Re: Enfield diesel for sale

Hi Andy, that sounds mighty interesting. Could you send me some pix (as I am in Austria, Central Europe) ? Does it come with a V5 and is the engine in the papers ? Price conversion means it's running a Yanmar clone engine ? Would you mind dropping me a PM with your email-address, so we could have a ...

Re: ural/dnepr diesel conversion kits?

I actually know Lois Löw personally. It might be advisable to get someone who can speak German and call him for you. AFAIK he doesn't offer a conversion kit, but only the complete sidecar. The 23 horsepower are quite a lot as the engine is very torquey and it's definitely not a lot slower than a sto...

The 25hp version is the one said to be breaking cranks. That said, it's a lot of rumour... but I haven't actually seen one with a broken crank (yet).

I am aware of that (I was granted a testride on that 1.9L steed last spring), but the question was for UNMODIFIED frames, which limits things pretty much.

The backbone of the frame sits quite low to be honest...

Re: Punsun Dnepr build with questions

Now that is very interesting. Talking of another bend in the Diesel-lines, I would say, it shouldn't matter really. I would be extremely interested to see how the engine bolts into the adapter and how you fix all this to the frame as the gearbox is mounted solid, I am not sure, whether this is cleve...

Re: Factory Mass Produced Smoker???

Well I have one... (but I am not in the states).

It is "powered" by a Indian Greeves-Lombardini copy with 325cc and has a max. power of about 6.5hp.

It's cool stuff, but very slow compared to your 10hp racing-diesel

I (personally) know of people who scratched the 100000km mark on Hatz-powered Enfields built by Jochen Sommer. Although not 100% troublefree, the longevity is out of question. What has to be said about the Yanmar-clones is, that they drastically vary in overall quality (castings, bearings, general a...

I've got a lombardini engine which I've taken the cylinder heads off and there is heavy carbon buildup in the exhaust ports. I will run an 18 or 19 tooth sprocket on my 325, when changing the chain, because it lowers the revs and (although I live in Austria) there's not too many mountains on my daily commute. Re: help for upgrade to 436 cc

I can't help you with the 5-speed, but yes, you can change the front-sprocket for a bigger one. In overall topspeed, the 5-speed will not give you any benefits, because the final transmission is the same as on the 4-speed, only the gap between 2nd and 3rd is smaller, because that's where (IIRC) the ...

Re: New in NE England

Hi there... Kubota twins are installed in some Microcars and have proved themselves well, I think the Z400 is only rated 10hp, which is sufficient for approx. 90-100kph, but if you're going for a twin anyway, I would try and find something a little stronger. Engines with approx. the same weight will...

Re: Supercharger from SLK

I'd still drive it 1:1 because thinking of my XT500 the Diesel will make about half the revs, i.e. 3500rpm there being about the middle of the range.

So if it does 14psi at 1:1 on a gasoline engine, it will do about 7psi on a diesel...
