The guy selling it is the same guy I bought my 6hp from. Real nice guy, and extremely helpful. Lives a couple hours from me...
However, with a dry weight of 416 lbs? I 'spect it'd be a tad on the heavy side...

Yeah, I'm using a series 40 and it's working out fine. I talked with the guys at Comet, and was told even the 30 series would suffice for 6 hp. I was going to go that route but decided on the 40 instead in case I wanted to go bigger hp later. As far as pricing, I got most of my stuff off eBay. There...

Fuel Return Line Question..
Ok. Bike is up and running for a few weeks now. About ready to put plates on it. But I seem to be having a fuel delivery problem. I asked once before about routing the fuel return line. I did NOT route it back to the tank. Instead, I sent in to a small aluminum bottle, figuring if it every got close...

Been real busy the last couple weeks. Prepping the house for my son's graduation party. But I did manage to get the battery/starter hooked up so I can light it up anytime I want. Had about 10 guys in the shop saturday (during the party) looking it over. I HOPE to be able to take it on it's virgin ru...

Thanks... but I got it figgered out later in the day. Only took about 3-4 good pulls and it popped a couple times... A few more and it took right off. Not as loud as I expected either (with a straight pipe) Got a few more little details to take care of, and it'll be time for it's virgin run down the...

Bleeding Air Out?
I'm new to the little single cyl diesels. I'm getting fairly close to completion on my project, and trying to fire the engine (for the first time) Chinese Yanmar clone. The "book?" that came with it ( more of a pamphlet really) says basically "bleed the air out by loosening the fuel l...

Source for Sprockets and Shafts ?
Some time back, someone posted a link to an industrial suppliers with tons of sprockets/shafts/bearings all all sizes.. And typical me, I DIDN'T save it. (figured I could always find the link again) Well, of course I can't now. I think it was on the old Yahoo site. I just went through maybe 6-8 mont...

Invention, of necessity, is a MOTHER! Back in th e70's, a few of us set out on a long road trip. Bout 3,000 or so in a week. I was on a 900 Kaw at the time. I had just replaced the chain before leaving. I chekced it at around 500 miles, and it was damn near off! Tightened it up, and 300 miles later,...

Well, after a little time away from the shop.. (It was pretty muck buried in snow) I'm back on the project. Decided to go with a Comet 40 series convertor. I started adding up the cost of using a TAV2, and the labor necessary to adapt it, and found it'd end up being more than a 40 series. Especially...
