The guy selling it is the same guy I bought my 6hp from. Real nice guy, and extremely helpful. Lives a couple hours from me...

However, with a dry weight of 416 lbs? I 'spect it'd be a tad on the heavy side...

You'll never see 55-60 with a 7 hp engine. I built a little bobber last year with a 6hp in it. Very lightweight, in a rigid frame, best I've EVER got out of it was just under 40 mph.
Also, you're going to have to do a MAJOR rework on that frame to fit a diesel in there.

Why bother? Because we CAN! Simple as that. I mean lets face it, we ain't exactly the most logical group around. Why the Goose? Long wheelbase. Bulletproof drivetrain, and oh so comfortable. (I've had 3) And of course, it'll be the ONLY one on planet Earth... (What other reason does one need?) lol

I agree with the poster that asked for a link! Cheapest I've found the Punsun V2 was around 1800 bucks. For 695? I'd buy it in a HEARTBEAT!
I've got the bike already to put it in. Only has a 6hp in it now, but I made the chassis big enough to accomodate about anything.

Yeah, I'm using a series 40 and it's working out fine. I talked with the guys at Comet, and was told even the 30 series would suffice for 6 hp. I was going to go that route but decided on the 40 instead in case I wanted to go bigger hp later. As far as pricing, I got most of my stuff off eBay. There...

All is good once again.. but I don't know why. Drilled a small hole through the fuel tank cap, and brazed a small section of tubing into it. Made sure to keep the tank vented, too. Disconnected my previous "catch bottle"..bled it out, and started it up. Took a few minutes running to clean ...

Fuel Return Line Question..

Ok. Bike is up and running for a few weeks now. About ready to put plates on it. But I seem to be having a fuel delivery problem. I asked once before about routing the fuel return line. I did NOT route it back to the tank. Instead, I sent in to a small aluminum bottle, figuring if it every got close...

Know what you mean. Here in the States, diesels are hard to come by. My personal preference for your needs would be to look for an old Kubota lawn mower/tractor. They're heavy, industrial engines, but durable. And parts are readily available in the States.

Byrdman,
I understand exactly what you're describing. I toyed with the same idea for a few years myself, but eventually gave up on it. I had a few Guzzis over the years, and was familiar with them so thought about going that route.

Brings up a question for me. I just got mine fired up, and a few test miles on it. Running it on biodiesel for the time being. They're building a new plant a few miles from here, so I thought I'd try it out.
Is there noticeably more power with conventional fuel?

Bleeding Air Out?

I'm new to the little single cyl diesels. I'm getting fairly close to completion on my project, and trying to fire the engine (for the first time) Chinese Yanmar clone. The "book?" that came with it ( more of a pamphlet really) says basically "bleed the air out by loosening the fuel l...

You may well be right about the frame. I thought the 350/360 used the same frame system, but I'm not 100% sure of it.

The CB also has "goofy" frame rails. One side in higher than the other. Woulod have to be all cut out and replaced. (I know. I just DID it) I had a cb lying around, and managed to get a title for it. After looking at it, and stripping it down, all I ended up using was the frame neck and fr...

I like shiftin' gears too. But I kept playing around with trying to find a "workable" transmission/drive unit. And eventually decided going with the CVT. Small suitable trans's are hard to come by here in the States. I pretty much exhausted all possbilities. Toyed a long time with the idea...

Beautiful looking unit. Only "problem?" I see with it is that it sits pretty tall. If the wheel was mounted in behind it, instead of under it, seems it would have a much lower center of gravity. A guy on one of the other boards I'm on built one from scratch that sits REAL low, with a singl...

Invention, of necessity, is a MOTHER! Back in th e70's, a few of us set out on a long road trip. Bout 3,000 or so in a week. I was on a 900 Kaw at the time. Well, after a little time away from the shop.. (It was pretty muck buried in snow) I'm back on the project. Decided to go with a Comet 40 series convertor.
