Great looking build.

I just love the look of a white bike. Especially one with some black smoke eminating from it's exhaust! :D

For the Cummins info, check out the TDR website. The Turbo Diesel Register is the spot for Cummins info.

Re: 3800RPM + ???

Yanmar D36 and D27 inline triples.

These are all aluminum, direct injected engine that were used in Yanmar's outboard boat engines.

They are simply an awesome engine and spin up to 4600rpm.

Re: Hills, hills, hills

Hello and welcome to the nuthouse. I think the first question is how small a genset (and engine) are you thinking about? The very small air-cooled, single cylinder engines will get you up the hill but you will not be doing it with any sort of speed. The larger, multi-cylinder, liquid cooled engines ...

Re: What needs to change to make Yanmar L engines do high RPM?

I've seen an L100 run at 9000rpm for a little while! Had a big, fat turbo bolted on it.

Bot much left afterward but she screamed for a bit.

Damn sexy start to a great bike.

I just love big, open primary drives. Kind of childish but I want to stick things into the belt to see how fast they get crushed!

Hey Mark,

Get me some detailed pictures of the engine; block, throttle bracketry, injector, pump, etc. I should be able to then tell you if it's a Yanmar or a clone.

I'm confused. Is the current engine in fact a Kawasaki V-Twin DIESEL?

I've never heard or seen one if it is.

Sadly, I have no experience with the Chinese BMW clones but I too love the industrial, military looks. Can they be imported minus the engine? Regarding the drum rear brakes.... To me, that would not be a deal breaker. The rear brake on a motorcycle does a tiny portion of the braking anyhow! What fro...

For Sale: KTM 990 White Power Super Moto Front Forks

Here’s an almost brand new set of 48mm front forks for the KTM 990 Super Moto. These were taken off of a UK Spec 2008 990SM with under 4000 miles. These forks are awesome; they’re super strong and beefy and are in perfect condition. The upper tubes are spotless as are the lower sliders. There’s some...

Re: any info for yanmar thermoking 235 and 486 ??

Agreed. The 4-86 is a Yanmar 4TNE86 but it's a tank. Also, the TK spec has a massive oil pan for extended duty cycles. I believe the 2-35 is a Yanmar 2TN66 and could be a great candidate for a small diesel bike project. The TK units do have constant speed governors but even that is adjustable. You c...

Re: Yanmar V-Twin in Atlanta

Converting a 2V from vertical to horizontal is fairly easy. There are a few machining operations that must be done to the bottom bearing cover/sump and a new oil pickup tube must be fabricated. If you decide to go that route, call Jim Martin and Martin Diesel in Defiance, Ohio. He's a Yanmar distrib...
