Glad to hear the failure just resulted in a grinding of metal and nothing really more.
side note: Your old pictures now almost have an artistic horizontal hold thing to them lol.

that is an admin setting that probably got transferred from the previous boards settings when things got transferred over. Was same on that one too. Agree it is a PITA but it might be tad bit cheaper...... lowers server load?

glad to see you got her up. Understand your pain well. Forum was moderating... now co-administration was getting slammed for months. Had to do ton of changes but finally got it cut to nothing. One thing that helped is I now require new registrants to post a quick blurb somewhere in one of the forums...

Yeah this is my internet friend Jefferson. I've not seen the bike but I am sure it is the cat's meow having seen the other work he has done on his diesel vw bus etc. So Im sure it is worth the pretty penny he is asking for it.

Re: Could this be the start if Sluggy II?
Coach, you are perfectly correct on both counts. The engine is a stressed member so forms the lower part of the frame, not dangling from the head though as I thought this would not be a good engineering solution but through the cast iron block. Seen this done with Tiger's though it was factory that...

Re: Could this be the start if Sluggy II?
so you have gone to a "block/chassis" configuration?? as in the engine block is now a structural part of the bike chassis with it bolted between frame members ? or is there a basket still there for engine to sit on independently and just can't see it in pic? Devil's advocate.. .... but way...

CVT Behavior right or not?
having problems with my KLR diesel.
Roll the bike only inches and the cvt locks in and no longer can roll bike unless strong enough to overcome engine compression. (which I am not) Would think could roll it without engine running.... or am I wrong?

Before you get to far into it...... check with a Kubota guru like North Idaho Wolfman.... (you know whom he is). no pretty sure it wont heat a small shop. Assuming the cause compared to volume of a van, truck cab etc... there is just to much cubic. feet in small shop for these to work for that.

Re: Finally I can start! Aixam+CVT based build
Am partial to adventure bikes myself. Id get a shaft drive smaller 3cyl Adventure bike or a big version of a 2cyl shaft bike (does that exist?) and build yourself your own version of a Track Bike. Only thing would do different is stack chain drive and CVT. CVT married to the universal Joint that dri...

Re: KLWinter - Recently Affected Diesel Addict in TN, USA
IMHO...... you got a great start. Suspect that like most shaft drive bikes there is very few axle ratios available. Could be wrong but typically that is the case. I like CVT, but suggest you consider a chain and sprocket combo running diagonal up or downward to one side, THEN the CVT powered off of ...

Re: New build- 1974 Guzzi Eldo and Kubota 902
with a shaft bike you have another option... Chain AND CVT. Run a chain up to one side of the bike.... and a CVT down back to Shaft. This gives you adjustable ratios by changing sprockets. Few diesel ATV's went this route. The chain in their case was done to increase RPM at the first CVT pulley so i...

that info lead to a part # and on to other tractors with D722 (Bx 1870 and Bx 1880) also your liable to find different applications used a different coolant tube (direction it exits the engine) Look for that too. Might help you configure something. Example the Miller Bobcat 250 & Trailblazer 302...

ok now that we know what engine..... suggest you do an internet search for ( manual D722 , Carrier, Tractor, loader, "fork lift" ) and anything else you can think of that engine was used in. Then you can scan thru manuals to see recommendation for temp test of thermostat. This might lead t...

Bit COLD but commuted to work on bike today after finishing up the wiring yesterday and doing a test ride. Before I had a BUCKING at take off that I was attributing to a loose chain. During this maintenance time I check chain and it was in spec. to KLR..... though spec. may not be accurate with this...
