When you point at your picture in your album at photobucket a dropdown appears. In this you choose the correct code. Click on it and its automatically copied. Then open your article and right-click at the spot you want the picture to be and select paste.

Re: Quiet recently
Been away for a long time. Friends died, buisiness down the drain. Health issues. All that time my DIZH has been waiting for me in a dark corner. Getting it in running state is one of the last small fires still burning inside me. Today I pushed myself to make a start again. A lot of crucial parts we...

Re: wasted horsepower
Thanks Tappy, for the backup. I've ran some tests at my workshop. I took a flywheel and cover from a seized yanclone(10hp) and connected them to a testbench used for testing electrical pumps. The bench showed that running at 3600 rpm the fins use 1.87 kW electrical power. So this is on top of what t...

Oops I f***ed up! The regulation I was going to present next is only applied in case of a motorcycle on LPG or Compressed Natural Gas I had made a too hasty conclusion So I guess any old way to choke the engine is o.k.

Re: Punsun Dnepr build completed
Here is the problem. In holland, when you switch from gasoline to diesel, under the new rules the bike has to comply to these rules as if it was a new bike. This means that no matter how old your frame is, it has to be fitted with indication lights, proper brakes, proper headlights, modern (safe) br...

No, the program calculated that a fan with the same dimensions rotating at 3000rpm needs a 2,2 kW electric motor .

Re: Forced induction from the fan shroud
Lets not forget, these engines where not ment to be placed in a bike frame in the first place! I'm convinced that the speed derived airflow is enough to keep the cilinder within limits. Maybe on the high side but that's ok for a diesel. And as I stated in another tread, getting rid of the fanblades ...

Thanks for the compliment sno bro. The 350 indeed goes like a maniac . Even with the original span. It's a Duna span made almost completely out of aluminum. It weighs next to nothing.

O.k Rhynri, point taken. Maybe I came on a bit to strong as well. But you know, I just want so badly for some dieselbike producer to succeed! I have really taken it badly that Track was forced to halt the production .

Re: Greek Opposed Piston Diesel
If you can get an oil with good lubrication qualities wich is also combustable without producing smoke than 2 stoke will become widely accepted again. I'm not quite sure what burning lubrication oil has to do with anything. It may interest you to note that two-stroke diesels don't work in the same ...

Re: Tech Pictures of the HDT engine
I guess it wil be quite simmular to a common rail dieselpump. I think that's the way to go. A high pressure pump and a piezo injector on a one-cilinder. That would get the performance up and over gasoline levels.

WOW! What a beauty! Shame there isn't a thread about your bike because I would have loved to read about the details concerning the nickelplating etc. Which speed are you able to reach with this bike? Good luck with the registration. Here in Holland the mechanical stop would be a no-go. Regulations s...

Spoken like a true consumer Rhynri! With these kind of comparisons you wont get annywere. Dieselbike for the masses? Personally I don't beleive in that. And why should a dieselbike be cheaper than gasoline bikes? You've lost me on that. No big bike manufacturer dears to undertake this adventure. The...

Re: Hello from the Netherlands.
Sounds like a neat bike. I wouldn't mind one, but the price is waaaaaaay steep for what you get, even if it is a complete unit. No it isn't. It is amazing that such revolutionary bikes could be build for this price at such low quantities. Guys like Eric stick their necs out, only to get it chopped ...

Re: Greek Opposed Piston Diesel
Currently, the focus in engine development is mostly on 2 stroke. Just because its a better principle. The work temperature and fuel/air mixture need to improve. Smoking is caused by burning lubrication oil. If you can get an oil with good lubrication qualities wich is also combustable without produ...

Re: Land Speed Racing
Congratulations! Nicely done. Nice movie as well. However it seemed to me that however you tuned the engine up to 4500 RPM it didn't go near there. I have the feeling that if you would use a larger rear sprocket, it might just have some extra power to overcome wind resistance an maybe gain some extr...

Thanks to you all for the kind and motivating comments. So let me tell you some more... For me the hardest part of this build is the fact that you have to do a lot of things twice or more. Placing the engine for instance. I lost count of how many times I have lifted the engine in and out of the frame...

Re: Greek Opposed Piston Diesel
I personally think that 2 stroke is the way to go. It has a far better powerband, stays cooler, has less parts that can break down, can easilly run with water injection, can run on virtually any kind of fuel (even methanol) ,is more compact and makes a lot more noise :D . Almost all the big ship eng...

Espe I still think your friends calculations are way offline. But if it was correct i have made a big mistake in makeing my bike, because if the fan is pushing 4.6hp then it is also sucking 4.6hp and so i have mounted my engine 90deg out. so if it it was mounted fan faceing forwards it could suck m...

Sam, a friend of mine owns a company wich builds fans and pumps. They are normally driven bij electric motors. He entered the data of a 10hp Yanmar clone in a calculation program. Turned out that a fan of simular dimensions would require a 3 hp electric engine at 2800 rpm. This is with a safety marg...
