Quiet recently
It seems a bit quiet on the diesel bike front recently.
I presume you are all quietly beavering away in a shed with a big hammer creating some interesting vehicles??

Re: Quiet recently
We're up against a projected high of -2 F and 25 mph winds with snow. Not a lot of beavering going on.

So, much, rain! I have moved house. Ridden the diesel bike a couple of times now, but nowhere to build anything new.
So tragic breakdowns yet! I'm very proud of that lol.

Re: Quiet recently
I finally took all mu chaincase parts to my welder friend...hoping they will be together soon. I have run out of excuses for not finishing my project (ruggerini md151 on a 1980 honda cb400 frame). Search "honderini" in the bike builds section.

Re: Quiet recently
Been away for a long time. Friends died, buisiness down the drain. Health issues. All that time my DIZH has been waiting for me in a dark corner. Getting it in running state is one of the last small fires still burning inside me. Today I pushed myself to make a start again. A lot of crucial parts were lost moving my stuff from one location to another last year and a half. Somehow searching for lost parts and organising my stuff has a theraputic effect. Before when things started to go bad what kept me going was starting one project after another. Half way through I Always lost interest, and started something new. This resulted in me becoming some kind of hoarder, collecting all kind of sh*t that caused me to loose focus even more. So today I threw a lot of stuff in the dumpster. "worldchanging inventions" , " machines everyone was waiting for" and " one of a kind items bound to become worth something someday" have met their end. And you now what? With everything I threw away I felt a bit of weight lifted from my shoulders. And although my body feels battered and beaten right now, my spirit has regained new energy. And so I figure and hope it won't be long before the story of me and my DIZH will continue.
As long as it smokes, it runs!

Congratulations for scratching your way back to sanity. Picking a project you started in the past; but unfinished, is a good therapy. It's a mark of once again moving forward with life. Congratulations on your renewed quest. Been there doing that!!!espe wrote:Been away for a long time. Friends died, buisiness down the drain. Health issues. Agreed, Keep it up! The more you do, the more motivation you have. The feeling when your riding along doing 50mph on something that YOU built is unrivaled!espe wrote:Been away for a long time. Re: Quiet recently
I have been waylaid by projects other than diesel-bike. Now I am casting aluminium in a waste-oil powered furnace. Yesterday I got fuel-air right and let rip. Molten scrap ali just run off into cake trays for now - lots of aluminium buns! Next I need to make something fancy for the bike - maybe an alloy radiator cowl? Perhaps a bit big for first attempts at sand casting, so maybe a dash-board for boost gauge and water temp meter. All good fun.
