Re: Water injection nozzle
Or you could build a small bubbler (waterpipe styled provision) and let the engine breathe part of its air through that. That way, you will get a very fine mist. It WILL evaporate the methanol first though, so not suitable for water-meth mixtures.

Re: spider Bikish thingish that needs a diesel implant
This needs to become a five-seater, all seated one behind the other, a là Twizy, and a roof, again, like Twizy. And yeah, a diesel would be in place.
I was waiting for something like this to come up for years.
Cool machine.

Re: Honda Rebel Kubota
On the water injection thingy: If you cannot inject an amount low enough with what you have tried so far, maybe you could use a small carburetor or a bubbler ("water pipe"), use a really narrow hose to connect that to your air filter housing (will need own little air filter). Connect throt...

Re: Husqvarna supercharged 418 build
Hey Otto! Little question: When you decided to supercharge instead of turbo, have you also thought of using the old petrol engine as your supercharger airpump? I mean, instead of straight-shaft cylinder off, you could have welded the ports shut, poured some 4stroke oil into the crankcase, and replac...

Be interesting if they can make a 2-stroke pass 2018 Euro 7 emissions. I haven't seen a new 2-stroke in an on-road vehicle since the early 90's with Detroit's 8V92T. This one looks like it's got two overhead camshafts. Meaning it's probably loop-scavenged... through the valves, not ports. Meaning n...

Should I have missed a thread dedicated to this build, I am sorry, and Admin please feel free to delete this post. So here goes: 2WD Hydrostatic V-twin...

Re: Fabricating kick or rope start for 3cyl D722 etc with CVT
Re decompression device: Is there is no possibility to retrofit your engine with one? If none are ready made, fabricate one yourself. They are pretty primitive, esp. if they have manual release. Failing that, you could ease your engine starting work by putting a throttle body into the intake duct. T...

Hell yeah and more power to Renault, I say. Shouldn't be much (if any) heavier than the Smart 800 ccm common rail turbo-diesel - at double the power. Let's just hope this one doesn't get dropped as have all previous attempts to re-introduce two-stroke diesels to anything smaller than a ship...

Vaporware. Like algae biodiesel and hydrogen fuel cells. No doubt their project is, yes. I recall having browsed their homepage a coupla years ago, and it is now still as it was then. Got me wondering if it is due to their funny "z-process" combustion differing little from the M-process, ...

If you are stern on going the Ural/Dnepr or old-school BMW way, there's also the possibility to walk this way ; just watch the vid and read the topic. Not saying it is THE easiest way to go; just that if you chose to, you would not need any frame mods because the engine pretty much stays put; no nee...

Re: DIY bang-bang on turboed singles?
If you open the exhaust valve very early then you're just reducing engine crank output to drive the turbo instead. This is a much less efficient way to extract energy from the fuel so your fuel consumption will rocket. Not quite. See, once the turbo is up to RPMs so the boost is at a level that tur...

DIY bang-bang on turboed singles?
Good time o'day everyone! Another stupid idea incoming. As we all know, our little industrial singles are hard to get a turbo to function on due to two reasons. One is pulsations - a properly sized plenum chamber might mitigate this. The other one is the insufficient gas flow available: There are fe...

Re: 15 more MPH
You also need extra air for that extra fuel - whatever it may be, so only really useful if you have a turbo or supercharger in the first place. If you did then why not just ramp up the diesel rate to use the extra air? LPG is popular because it means you can leave the standard injection system alon...

Definitely. Even though it is not sure whether it is a diesel or a gasser (no large pictures, no close-ups), it is still a demonstration of what is possible with a car engine, so definitely of interest to people on this board. Plus it IS a beautiful ratbike (is that even possible?).

Re: V-Twin Diesel with CVT and Reverse
For reverse go with a second Alernator and Copacitor (or large primary alternator). Put an electric hub in the front wheel. Now you got reverse and an on demand 2wheel drive. Reverse, OK. But 2WD? An affordable in-hub motor has how much, 0,5 to 2 KW. What's the point? Especially since for muddin', ...

Re: V-Twin Diesel with CVT and Reverse
Well, the package would be far more neat and acceptable for longitudinal mounting if it only had the CVT, sans gearbox. When I erase the gearbox from my mental picture of that package - just the CVT doesn't add all that much bulk even as it protrudes to the side somewhat. Driver's legs go well over ...

Re: 15 more MPH
I suspect any discussion of Alex's bike producing 15 hp in the hope of 65+ mph is largely theoretical. As such, the engine itself presents a far greater risk to life and limb than does the prospect of an uncorked and lit propane vessel. Perhaps the worst-case-scenario would be having the engine she...
