Diesel Dnepr from Ukraine
Hi!
inspired by many diesel bikes on the internet. i asked my self why cant i do this? and that's how i decided to rebuild my dnepr
this is how my bike looked last season:
Then i bought an 186F china clone approx 400cc, and started to build adapter for Dnepr gearbox:
Then frame building begins:
nothing cant be achieved without helpful friends!
(i am one on the left with beard )
and some videos of the building process:

Finally i am on the road !!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwYq3plCotg
top speed 65km\h - i will work for 5th gear and faster rear gear.
i don't need more than 70-80 km\h comfort speed, we have roads only on maps here in Ukraine
also my bike is street illegal and its almost impossible make it legal.
Summing up I very pleased

Re: Diesel Dnepr from Ukraine
great looking bike! Congratulations!
You have the newer Dnepr gearbox, I think a fifth gear can be installed in place of the reverse? And you can also get faster third and fourth gears, or change the rear drive to something faster like 9/35.
I have had some problems with vibrations with mine so beware! Yesterday silencer from BOTH sides sheared their attachments and fell off, only 20km apart
My bike is very similar to yours and also based on a Dnper.

On the subject of vibrations it might be worth putting a clamp on that injector line as it looks to be quite long? Others have had probs with long lines over time.

Re: Diesel Dnepr from Ukraine
Stuart done it!
sno-bro yes you're right, i can do all this modifications, its no problem to get this parts here in Ukraine, but its a money and time for installation problem, however i will work for that!
i saw this guy with installed 5th gear in place of the reverse, you can see on the photo a black lever for turning it on
and about silencer you're right! end part of the silencer fell off too, on the road in small village, i have luck and found good guy with MIG welder, he helped me for free =)
you have made a great bike! i saw it long ago, this bike made me a great inspiration!
on this weekend i traveled 600km in Carpathian mountains, engine has already an small oil leak in the front but everything else is good. here is a link to my photo album of my journey.

Looks like you could use a powered sidecar wheel.
Good to see your bike is still going strong.

As a matter of fact, I am working on that I have already almost all parts from MT-16 transmission.
motorcycle drove ~10,000 kilometers already, installed electric starter and faster rear gear.

THAT bike! Pure rat goodness, and very clean at that - almost bobber-clean. If you disregard the wires, at least +3 to rattiness for being a diesel, too
