Re: sidecart or luggage cart

Hi!

That are good photo's thanks! Is there a big difference in topspeed when driving with or without cart?

How is the handeling? I cant see a brake on the luggage cart.

Is it not needed on steep mountain tracks or emergency stops?

Re: enfield primary case

Hi! Did open the engine case and tappet a m8 hole . Verry nice engine indeed. So simpele and easy to work on. Also started the engine and made little tour trough the neighbourhood. I'm gonna buy a better mufler! The bike sounds like a machinegun. I can buy a muffler from a damaged yamaha chopper (10...

Re: sidecart or luggage cart

I know the counterstering is a great thing to exlpain to people (they dont believe that they do that when riding a bicycle) I'm thinking of the sidecart: posibble to take a passenger en lots of room. Also no problem with falling over on muddy tracks. Quite easy to build. Link the brake with the rear...

Re: sidecart or luggage cart

I'll want to travel with the enfield. Long distance trip and in the future (after completion of my current study) a journey of a year or so. With that I want the best option to take luggage. Sidecart in mud/gravel: no falling and nice and stable, "easy riding" and yes one wheel draging me ...

sidecart or luggage cart

Hi! The diesel enfield is near to completion (and perfection ofcourse  ) So I'm daydreaming of a extra little project: A luggagetrailer or sidecar! My question: how realistic wil it be on a 10 HP diesel? And what is your opinoin: sidecart or luggagetrailer? My opinion: the sidecart looks great...

Re: enfield primary case

the best place for a drainplug would be the bottom of the engine.

The tapping and drilling is not a problem but how to keep aluminum out of the engine? I don't think that the engine is gonna love bits of alu in the oil.

Thanks.

specs of the primary

Hello! After trying to machine the original sprocket down at my university workshop (what failed, the stuff is to hard for our equipment) I'm gonna buy a new one. But what are the specs of the sprocket? I's there a standard thickness toothdistance and so on? It must fit the yanmar axle (25 mm), were...

yanmar clone maintenance

Hello! I have a nice Yanmar clone engine and the conversion is allmost done. But a few questions: What about maintenance? what about the injectorpump? what about the valve clearance? The filters are easy, just follow the little book that came with the engine. But the 2 items above ain't clear. And i...

Re: vegetable oil enfield

Hey Diesel Dave, Are you talking from your own experience? I'm into the biodiesel story but there is little info. 2 Tank system & fuelline warmup thru exhaustwrap sounds like a simpele plan to test the system. I've heared a story that only insulating the injectorline form the pump (what's the en...

Re: Running an Yanmar L100 engine on SVO.

Nice idea! What do you think of the 2 tank system to heat the engine and then switch to SVO? When the injector tube is isolated from the outside air and the engine is nice and warm. Would that be enough to preheat the SVO? I'm thinking to put a small 2 liter diesel system on the bike and fill the no...

enfield primary case

Hello! I'm a dutch guy builing a nice enfield diesel. I've got a few questions about the primairy chain/housing. When I put the motor on the diy motorplate I can't put the diesel close enough to the gearbox. The axel of the engine is not in the middle of the primairy case hole. Lets say I'ts 1 cm to...

Re: first time dieael project

Okee, chain it is then. How long does the chain last and how do you oil it? I've found this engine http://www.halvewerk.nl/Webwinkel-Product-2823065/PTM420D-10pk-418cc-dieselmotor-met-E-start.html 10 HP at 3600 rpm 25,4 mm shaft 2 year garantee And 450 euro's Will this engine work in a enfield, or a...

Re: first time dieael project

Thanks!

The chain and setup, is that in a oil bath or is it in open air en is wear and tear quite big?

And the external aleternator, is it on the chain or on the crank (1 photo's says a 1000 words ;)

Thanks for the quick replay btw
