Hello!
I have a nice Yanmar clone engine and the conversion is allmost done. But a few questions:
What about maintenance?
what about the injectorpump?
what about the valve clearance?
The filters are easy, just follow the little book that came with the engine. But the 2 items above ain't clear. And is there something I'm missing in the maintenance department?
Thanks

Re: yanmar clone maintenance
Nice! Thank you
But I know that there are manuals online.
But is it the same for all clones?

Didn't you get a book with all this info???
Where did you buy the engine?
Set the tappets at .10mm
change oil, first after 1000km, then every 3-4000km. 15W40 from the action or lidl, semi-syntetic.
oil filter can be cleaned and replaced. I did this after the run in, after that, no debris after 40.000km.

Re: yanmar clone maintenance
Small note on my end, I'm changing the oil at 2000 K intervals, arnaud is spot on with valve clearances. As far as injector pump and injectors, if it's running right leave it alone seriously diesels should run for hundreds of hours before injection system needs looking at.
I'm also using full mineral diesel oil at 15W40, but see no reason why you cannot use a part synthetic. Not a lover of full synthetics, especially with these engines.

Correct.. Semi syntehtic will result in much less carbon deposits blocking valve stems etc.
Good for a loose-fit english thumper after 50 k.
Not for a thight-fit diesel engine with small valves and injector nozzle..
