hi there, its been a while
the frame is at the powdercoater, in the meanwhile we tought lets do it even better and bought a paioli fork, brembo caliper, koni rears and akront wheels.

Most excellent work, Vincent, thanks to you and Jeroen for sharing the exquisite details of the build! Looks like it should be great fun and keep on ticking [rattling?] for years to come.

I too am doing a bike gearbox for mine, modifying a GS550E engine. More like murdering than modifying. This will give me an auxiliary electric start, plus clutch & gearbox with 6 speeds up. Hoping it can cope with the turbo-diesel torque. I may have to add a flywheel too, similar to what you & Jeroen built.

Can't wait to hear & see more & see the finished product!

Here's the top nut, custom made by boutje as well as the rod underneath. In order to make the paioli fit to the Jawa frame.

Ordered a nice little counter;



i ran into troubles because its hard to find gauges etc. of another bike
and the dutch regulations excplicitly say the speedo has to lit up.


tackled it all in on go with this nice koso DB-02R
has features like temperature, RPM etc.etc.

lets hope that 4000 km on a diesel are just as comfortable as on a laverda twin

in the meanwhile two wheels are newly spoked by the dutch expert ''haan wheels''.
and two new BT45's are waiting to be assembled.

Also, boutje and a good friend who's somewhat of a fellow electrician tackled the RPM pulsator issue.
The Koso normally uses input from an electrical injection system, 15-20 volt.
E.g. some conditioning had to be taken care of.

the diesel is on its final set of legs. freshly spoked -front- wheel needed extra care, thanks for the wobble haan wheels (er zat een slag in)
New BT45 dual compound tires. Yes, this bike will need to go full throttle always and everywhere (also in the corners).

currently we are trying to assemble/machine the original ''brake anker''(?) onto the kawa 250 rearhub.
boutje fitted a ducati 916 hollow rear axle.
