That is not ideal!
Something to note, all my 622/720 etc dispticks seem much shorter than yours. They bottom out on the sealing surface at the top, rather than the bottom of the sump.

I know the feeling, you do get some windup merchants on ebay sometimes. I have the same thing. Park vehicle up (superdream diesel in this case), start it up, and it has developed an oil leak from the filter relocation lines...... hmmmm Very annoying. Its the way of the world. Shame about selling the...

influencing CVT ratios
Having a chat with Tim, I stumbled across a thesis on measuring CVT efficiency. In this document, he outlines a mechanism to influence the CVT ratio by applying pressure to the moving sheave of the secondary pulley. Like this: ddddddddddd.png Seems quite interesting. I played about with actuating th...

Re: Superdiesel D722 being turboed
I have done a bit more testing. A small crack in the feed pipe to the turbo has now been welded up. This has resolved that. The pipe to the boost gauge was partially blocked with oil, this has now been sorted. I am seeing 5.5-6 PSI at 3700 RPM with the wastgate hose disconnected. I think that is pre...

I have updated the settings for the forum. New users will now need administrator approval before being able to post. Seeing as we have a low rate of new user registrations this seems to be the best option imo.

Re: Superdiesel D722 being turboed
OK lots of progress since last time. I wedged the waste gate shut and it didn't make a difference. I have now managed to ride it a bit more, with a boost gauge attached permanently. Leaving the fuel for the correct setting for an na engine, it makes around 3psi @ 3600 rpm with a big load on it. Turn...

Re: Adding a turbo to a kubuto D600
I have just added a VZ21 (china clone or RHF3 series turbo) to my D622. The K03 you have linked will be too big to make any boost, the VZ21 really is too big as well, I think the best turbo for the small engine is a TD05 or GT12v, ideally a GT06 but they are quite pricy. A Smart 800 CDI turbo would ...

Great idea, but a 400cc single does not have enough flow to spin a turbo, even larger singles pose problems.
Especially one that size, it looks rather large!

Re: Superdiesel D722 being turboed
So inlet and pipework completed. On the first test run, it made 2-3 psi. As I have been testing it more and more, I am progressively seeing more and more boost. I have a 100% leak free intake system, tested up to 15PSI, so I am wondering why I am not seeing that much boost. I have a feeling its the ...

Re: Superdiesel D722 being turboed
Thanks Mark. I did the numbers before hand, I believe that the inlet pipe work, combined with the original D722 inlet manifold should come up with more than 300cc's worth of air capacity. I have some pics up now: http://fotifixes.com/imagehosting/images/2019/04/30/IMG20190430172328828.th.jpg http://...

Superdiesel D722 being turboed
Hi all The superdream with the D722 is off being turboed now. Its having a custom exhaust manifold made, and it will bring up the turbo to the right hand side, next to where the original water pump. When It gets back, I will need to do intake pipework, and oil feed, then let it rip!! I am not going ...

I have chosen 28th of Feb to get the turbo work done, so will need to pull the rad etc off so he has space to work.
Will probably do that when the snow clears!
Not to bad to ride in these conditions, but windchill on the M25 can be a bit horrible.

Re: Coldest start of this year
Its almost like the timing is a tad retarded, but I have no shims between my pump and the housing so possibly something is worn somewhere.
I use WD40 to help start the diesels, its a bit easier on everything than brake cleaner/easy start
or propane is quite good.

It would also appear I have 1 x GP out possibly?

Re: Could this be the start if Sluggy II?
I managed 77mph on the superdream (digital tach calibrated to gps speed).
That is with the CVT blocking past a certain ratio, so at approx 3900 rpm.
I was pretty happy with that. I am in the middle of fitting a turbo, but dont think I will re-gear for more top speed as its a bit sketchy up there.

What have you achieved top speed wise?
I would be interested to see, as yours is 5 speed z482 and mine is CVT (with top ratio blocker) and D722.
