Re: Looking For My Old Diesel Bike
No, that was for the lights only. I never got the electrical finished enough to use the electric start. It pulled over easy enough.

Looking For My Old Diesel Bike
My Craig's List ad is not getting me anywhere. I probably should have posted this here long ago. I sold my bobber to a cat in South Dakota. He sold it to another guy in the area. I am looking for a diesel engine powered motor bike that I sold a few years ago. My father and I built it, and I foolishl...

Re: New Smoker....Northern Iowa, USA
Well, the bobber is long gone. I traded it for a flattracker. I did manage to take it to a rat rod show. That was pretty neat!!
I readded the photos as pre request. Here are a few more...

Re: New Smoker....Northern Iowa, USA
I have 200 miles on the smoker now. I snapped this a couple of days ago while I was on a recon mission.

Re: Salt Contender
Are you running an SCTA event, or AMA/BUB/FIA? I wanted to do a streamliner, in the AMA/BUB group, and run their diesel class. But, they only have 750cc, 1500cc, and 3000cc classes! So, the next thought is SCTA, and run the fuel classes (which I'm guessing you are doing). You wouldn't be willing to ...

Re: Factory Mass Produced Smoker???
I think the Royal Enfield Taurus is what I want. I have read of two different engine in them, a Robin or a Lombardini? What is the likelyhood of finding one of these bikes in the states? Is there any good info on these bikes??

Here's a crappy little walk around I did a while back. Oh, and so you know, GoPro cameras seem to be great for onboard videos, but suck for hand held use...

Factory Mass Produced Smoker???
I'm very new to smokers, but they are growing on me. Mine is pretty darn fun!!!
So I have a question, other than HDT, who has built and sold diesel powered motor bikes in mass amounts, say like 500 plus units?

Re: New Smoker....Northern Iowa, USA
Here's an updated photo for anyone that is interested... I'm still pluggin away at it. I've had it up to 55 so far, and I think that is about all she'll do. I don't think there is enough horsepower to pull the overdrive on the secondary clutch. But, it's all new to me, and I'm still learning. I do k...

Re: New Smoker....Northern Iowa, USA
Chris, If you've ever been in Alden, Iowa you'd discover that you'd have to put another 64 miles on it to even find stop and go traffic. Miles and miles of corn is your only friend. Sounds like you know the area! Justin, When you wire up and use the starter motor, make sure you have the compression...

Re: New Smoker....Northern Iowa, USA
Justin, Looks like a light weight ride, when those clone engines are broken in, they rev right up...with that straight pipe, your ears will bleed from the noise  You have a piece of sheet metal missing from the front right cylinder that wraps around the cylinder to the pto side. While driv...

New Smoker....Northern Iowa, USA
Hello all. I'm new to this diesel thing. I was born a gearhead, more so, a drag racer. I just did some horse trading with my pops for a bobber that he got to the riding stage, then moved on. My rig started life as a 1970 Honda CL450 street bike. I think dad paid almost nothing for it, and it had a c...
