2cyl Lombardini, Hatz, and KZ550 weights

Post by chevy43 »

The 1120cc 9LD561 Lombardinin I picked up the other day weighs 120kg and the Hatz 2G30 912cc weighs in at 84 KG. I guess that mean I will have to use the Hatz because the Lombardini is just too much extra weight for not enough extra power.

The KZ550 engine that was in the bike weights in at 70.5 KG with the transmission and makes 54 hp. I have to put that out of my mind though, or I'll never build a diesel motorcycle!!!

Dave here,

I'm thinking of thinning out my collection of Diesel engines, I have 2 Deutz/Ruggerini RD270's (1,200cc) 27.2hp and 49 ft lbs @3,000, which weigh just a little more than your Hatz 2G30 or my Hatz 2G40 (30 pounds) and only 1 inch taller than my RD211. One engine is new (actualy old NOS) w/o starter, the other low hours but broke a crank w/starter.

Maybe you might be interested. I might be interested in your Hatz in a partial trade depending on the condition and RPM setting. I think the 2G30 you have was bought on ebay, you and coachgeo were bidding on it?
