Hello from Poland.

Post by adamer »

Hi to everybody. Nice to be on this forum.
With my friends we are building diesel bike. Engine is V-Twin Winsun 940, base is Royal Enfield. We get stuck with our project due to problem witch throttle linkage control. Play is 1,5mm and has to be converted to 3 movements: Choke acceleration and stop function.
I cant find anything about this on this forum.

Moderator edit- he left question on this in technical area

Nice one Adamer :D I best that wasn't easy! It looks to have fitted in the bike very nicely though and, of course, the V twin should pull the sidecar ok 8)

Bike is almost finished and got a plate and new documents ;-) Running nice, but still need some improvement. Basically Suspensions have to be harder, as engine is heavier then original 350cc ;-) On the next brake (I’m offshore now) Front springs will go to Germany so they can choose stronger for me. In the meantime tank and side panniers will go for new paint. Aft Suspension maybe needs some changes as well. I don't have a chance to drive it a lot so don't sure about fuel consumption yet.
Idle revs are fluctuating a bit, will try to check injectors by specialist.
Did anybody found nice way to check oil on this Winsun/Punsun engines ?
Did anybody mount gauge for engine oil temperature?
Will try post some pictures.
Regards

Looks great adamer :-) Must be hard to fit them engines into an Enfield. I hope it's reliable for you.

Hi. Too early to said that, I just did 260km. As I mention before definitely need stiffer suspension, this should be done before spring time. This is prototype as most of ours diesel bikes, so time will show
Other issues to solve are handlebar vibrations, I considering go for expensive option with Vibranator http://www.vibranator.com/
Or fabricate something myself. Ideally will be some silent block system for handlebar mount, but I can’t get idea how it should be fitted to this specific Royal Enfield system :?

For various reason it was take a long time, but finally , bike get right color , stronger springs for suspension, new wider handlebar and vibranator which help a bit to reduce vibrations.
When you guys change oil first time on Winsun engine?
As far as I know first oil change should be after 20mh, and then after 100 mh. It’s quite difficult convert this to km due to different average speed.
I have just over 300km so far and my plan is to make firs change at 500km and next one after every 5000km, do you thing that’s OK?
What kind of oil would you recommend 15W40 mineral or semi synthetic?
My questions above regarding oil check and oil temperature are still actual.
