Diesel bike wannabe

Post by vasco1976 »

Hello all !

I am a rider with 2005 kawasaki zx130 - small 4 stroke - 10 HP - 1 cylinder - air cooled - gasoline bike engine...fffuhhh.....

Interested in this forum to find out if it is possible to turn my bike engine into using diesel...can anyone help with possible step-by-step guidance i can use ? Thank you so very much...

As for an alternative, after viewing the GEET Fuel System, an idea come up to try at least to replicate some of this system. What about..mmm, if I have 2 fuel tank, one filled with gasoline / diesel fuel, and another with.....ordinary tap water.

See, the water from the tank then goes trough some small fuel pipping, with some kind of fuel regulator trough the inner pipe in the exhaust system, going in the opposite direction from the exhaust gas flow. This water then will be heated up with the exhaust flow, out near the beginning of the exhaust pipe in the form of Hidrogen and Oxygen gas ( after being heated ), then goes trough a small fuel pipping system again and mixed with the gasoline / diesel fuel in one pipe before going into the carb intake.

The carb then can suck this combine fuel because it is a vakuum carb.

Sounds weird or possible ? Any suggestion ? :?

The only reason i propose this is just because i want to improve my bike fuel efficiency, so for all the pros and contras i welcome thee...

So far, as to improve the fuel efficiency, I have been playing around with Side Gapping Sparklug trick and mixed gasoline with acetone ( 3ml acetone per 1 litre gasoline ).

The best session achieved so far : 1 litre of gasoline for 77 km ( I'm hoping to improve this if I can manage to convert this engine into diesel )

Thanks again,

( * so sorry if my English is not that good, cause i'm from the asia )

The water trick was done by my brother many years ago on his 920cc Norton commando, the result was no real benefit at all.
I know that others have the same idea, and I think the outcome was the same, i.e. don't bother.
When you think of it, when Oxygen and Hydrogen gasses are cold and bump in to each other, they turn back to water. So you would need two injectors in to the combustion chamber one for each gas.
Puddles of water will be a problem on cold starts, and contamination of engine oil, naaaar don't bother.

Engine conversion: spark plugs out - injectors in, you'll need to run the fuel pump from somewhere, also you’ll need to down size the cylinders as diesels have bigger main and big end bearings. If you have a small under powered engine to begin with it certainly will be when you have spent your cash on it. I'd like to do an engineering job like that on a big bike like a BMW, fat chance of that happening

I'd never mix gas with diesel, as there will be oxygen in the tank mixed with gasoline fumes. This is an explosive mix...... tanks with pure gasoline purge all the oxygen in the tanks free space which is much safer.... just my $.02
worth...

Hi Vasco1976,
welcome to the forum :D I've seen various ways of adding water vapour to the petrol mix. It's pretty damp here some mornings in England and the vehicles always go a little better with that vapour in the air but you really need a big engine or engines to notice a lot of difference. They say that Bombers during WW2 would never have got off the ground if it hadn't have been for their 'water bottles'.
It's always good fun to try and squeeze more power out from your engine using these alternative ways.
Here is a strange (but cheap) thing to try: Get a couple of duff computer hard drives, break them open and bolt the strong (opposing) magnets across your fuel line. Make sure the fuel travels through the centre of the flux. The more pairs the better (but beware the law of deminishing returns i.e. 2nd pair = half the effect).
This may make the bike harder to start. But it may also give you a bigger bang :!:
I have this setup on my car and it goes quite a bit better. I've 'tuned' a few friends cars to good effect as well :) In a car atleast the heater should start blowing cooler air proving you can't destroy energy, just convert it. It works even better on Diesel's
Controversial stuff :!:
