smokyjoe wrote:If a " landlocked" lot is sold a permanent easement for access is granted and put into both the purchase-and-sale agreement and the final deed for your lot, otherwise it couldn't have been sold, at least that's the case up here in Taxachusetts. An access easement can't be taken away like this, I'm sure you have a solid case but it will probably take some legal action on your part.
. Actually I think it will take legal action on HIS part to remove my use of the easment. TX law says you can NOT landlock property. Logical Easement HAS to be granted no matter if other owners around like it or not. If he takes it to court.. and judge rules I for sure own that land..... he then will assign the easment placement as he sees fit. Previous cases seems to show he would just call the first easement I got as good.

The tact these guys are taking though is "the previous fellow never owned the land to sell it to me" so I bought nothing." Just legal twist by a low life of a person to get his way instead of being a man and accepting that he bought 20 acres NEXT to me.

Have taken steps to block this tact using TX Adverse Possession Rules. Previous owner actually was using this land Adversely for 20+ years. It was adjacent to his 40 acres and owned by a former bank; now defunk, that sold him his acreage. Bank abandoned this small sliver of land after selling off everything around it in straight even 20 acre chunks leaving this no mans land down the middle. This "Adverse use" made it his.... now mine by TX law. He sold a portion of that Adverse land in 04 w/out issue even though he had never turned in paper work claiming "Adverse Possession" on that sliver. That sale used a Title agency and the sale was certified as ok by a Title Insurance CO. Anyway I tacked my use of it, and my purchase of it, with his 20 years of using it all together (ok in TX law) and have filed papers with the county claiming Adverse Possession on the land myself to further solidify my case. Guy with the land next to me that has the original easement on his property will have to take it to court to get a judge to throw out my claim of adverse possession in effect returning the land to no mans land and thusly canceling the easement cause it would then be part of an invalid land sell.
Look up your state's Bar Association on the web- they should have something about a Pro Bono legal referral service. ...
Now that turned out laughable. There is one. I make too much money to qualify. Now get this... guess how much money I make. 1500-2000/ month LOSS. I make NEGATIVE money. They count income stream BEFORE deductions and that is IT. My deductions are greater than my income at this point in time. Basically that means no one can qualify for this agencies help. Guess Lawyers just sign up so they can "claim" they are all nice and stand for the hard working class man but actually never do any probono work. Only lawyers would come up with such a pile of shiat agency like that. Now Im calling in favors from folk who may know a lawyer willing to probono if this fellow takes it to court.

Good luck
THANX

Well semi tired Kubota engine with new injection pump and injectors should be delivered Tues or Wed.

Plan is to have a local fellow put his girlfriends children in one of my gymnastic classes in exchange for going thru the engine and freshing it up.

That's great news Coach!
Nothing like a good Barter to get things rolling again.

I tought of you yesterday.
Some friends and I rode through your neck of the woods yesterday. We stopped off in Munster for Steaks. We made one big cold loop from here. It was 37 degrees when we left and 43 when I got home several hours later.

Will see. I filled more paper work, ( Adverse Possession claim, tacked with former user of land under fence for 20 years) in conjunction with dotting a few more more "i"'s correctly etc and all the sudden the county has decided I am for sure the owner. Their sending me property Tax material LOL. This means the land is for sure mine.... and means an easement must be provided (since its landlocked and already in the deed anyway). Only thing that can change it is the other guy taking it to court and try to get my dotted "i" 's removed.

Im hopefull that the dotting was done right cause the law is certainly on my side otherwise.

I've been hesitant to say anything on here... this thread looks to damn much like a soap opera as it is. But.. someones going to ask.. "How's it going"?

How's the saying go...

"if it weren't for bad luck...... I'de have no luck at all"

They can make a movie about me someday.. maybe me and a few other guys and a Las Vegas Girl... Call it.

Bad Luck Fellers and a Baby  :?

The shipping company has LOST MY DAMN ENGINE. It is tracked from Wisconsin to Chicago IL. Been missing for nearly a month now. No one knows where it went from Chicago or if it ever left. Not sure what insurance is on it. Seller was shipping. He's legit.... so dont even go that route.

Fingers crossed Coachgeo your engine is at the depot and someone has seriously stuffed up, I had a atmospheric water generator go missing for a few weeks, turned out two con notes were assigned with the same numbers in two different locations, so my bloody water generator done the Australian grand tour. At least I got it unharmed, but wasn't happy :x = Wouldn't you have thought someone would have read the postal address on the box  , makes you wonder how society works sometimes.

Keep us posted.

Exactly, it will likely be a cock-up somehow. The birth cards I ordered for my son were only 2 weeks late, because some a-hole switched the zipcode of my address for the one of the sender  Be glad you're not ordering this engine for your wife, who has recently delivered a baby

Just a short update! (WELL, Short for me!)

Coach George and I moved his Tigers over to my shop Sunday.
I hope he doesn't mind if I break the news.

Since I have the tools and shop-to build them in, we did some bartering.

Coach lives a pretty good piece from me, so coming over every evening to work on his bike is not an option.
("good piece" is Texas Talk for distance)
Lucky for us his job is in between our homes.
But, I have a guest house for him to stay in on the weekends, when he gets time and funds to work on it here.
Since I've got the tools and machinery needed for this build, available funds will be our biggest delaying obstacle.
He has some obligations to take care of first, so be patient.

So, looks like we both will finally get out projects underway.

Sorry, no pictures just yet. But, I've posted pictures of my shop before and you've all seen Tigers before.
So no real mystery there!!!!
I'lll document the progress once we get going on them.
And I've got another project build going for a friend to finish up before I can start on my Diesel Tiger.
Talk about motivation!

BTY, my main laptop with my pictures and access to my Photobucket account is on the fritz, so I'm temorarily posting using my Netbook with the itsy bitsy keyboard. (Pleqase, overlook the typos your going to see.) And, it doesn't have a lot of memory for loading pictures on, so ya'll be patience. This is a great computer for banging around in the saddle bags while riding on some of my Adventures, but really sucks to have to use it everyday. Should have the other one back up and running again in a few days.

BTY, Coach is a great Guy. We can talk bench racing all day!!!!!!!

Stay tuned!!!

If you have not read this thread ....... don't bore yourself. It's not about bike building (yet) just a stupid life drama..... So moving forward

sitting behind me on the floor is TADAAAAAAAAaa...... an engine. Kubota D722 to go in my 1997 Triumph Tiger.

See viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2383

Here it is running at seller's place

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvJh1CESAD0

Plan is a CVT. Went with smaller engine cause well...... Im a skinny arse dude and it wont take much to move me... It's one of the lightest 3cyl engines out there and puts it IMHO somewhere around the best weight to HP ratio. It's from a Refer and does have the compact oil pan. Sometime in Dec. I'll haul it to TX to Curtis in TX (member here) whom I have traded a second Tiger too in exchange for building my bike. He's got more knowledge in a strand of his hair about this than I do in my whole brain. And he's got more hair than me.

Fingers crossed!

Engine on it's way to TX to Curtis. My engine that got stolen several years ago happend while in transit with a major shipping company. This engine arrived fine to my place being shipped by a little guy I found via Uship. Was going to take it the next leg from OH to TX myself, but it didn't work out this week, mostly due to snow. Took a chance and listed it need a ride to TX on a website where folk sorta exchange helping each other ship farm tractors from state to state or across country. A fellow who hauls trailers (campers) from Factory to dealerships called me up and offered to take it for some extra cash. He sounded legit, good fellow and for a price cheaper than I could drive it there.... we put it in back of his truck and off it went this morning. Im confident it will get there.

Another potential came about today too. Found a guy with some Polaris CVT's on Craigslist. He rebuilds ATV's on the side while in college. He confirmed what another said that the polaris clutch units are over the last several years all the same.... just different guts (weights, springs etc.). He has built some racing clutchs etc. and seemed to know his shiat. So Im getting both a used Primary/Drive Clutch AND Secondary/Driven Clutch from him for less than a new primary. Will still have to buy new helix, springs and weights etc. to match power curve of the diesel.

Am hoping there will be room behind the engine to treat the CVT like it was any other divorced gear box. Run chain from flywheel to divorced gearbox and gear box to rear wheel. Cept for me this will be drive chain to jackshaft running the Primary CVT Clutch fliped - as in it points under the seat reducing the width of the bike compared to typical set up with Primary pointing out from the flywheel. Secondary clutch would be flipped too. Key will be if the secondary will have room to sit low enough to have its jackshaft also be the one that holds the sprocket for chain drive to rear wheel. The other key is will this leave room for Turbo?? and Battery?

Least that is the goal.

Fingers crossed!

Engine arrived safe and sound and is now in Curtis's hands in TX. Polaris CVT's should be there some time next week.

CVT arrived in Tx at Curtis's place. They're a bit bigger than Comet units buttt......if the secondary/driven is larger diameter then should have a higher top range than the Comet's?

Im excited. This has been some damn long in the making.

Still some little stuff on my side I can do here in OH like shopping around for ancillary parts I needed (and some not NEEDED) that fit my budget while Curtis is working on bike. So far I picked up:

Must haves cause I had none of the below any more

.USED Sidi Summer Riding boots molded in sole from an Inmate at a fair price (Inmate= Member of Adv.rider.com)
. USED Oneal Element boots (sewn in soles......... allows me to add to sole so the tall bike fits my shorter legs better) from a Local. Maybe a bit high at $35usd for the amount of scrapes but wanted the sewn in sole.
. USED Joe Rocket Alter Ego All weather Adv. pants, liners, armour. From an Inmate at a fair price.
. Registered for USA State of OH required riding school. Steal at 50 bucks for helmet and bike included. Will take their other ones probably too. End of May on a weekend I wont have athletes at a competition.

Picked up "NEW" protection (thanks to advice from Inmate)

Image
. New helmet on sale (Gmax GM11S)

Image
. New water proof gloves on sale

Yes I believe in ATGATT. All The riding Gear All The Time

One NOT NEEDED yet but deal was too good and it rounds things out NICE since this is meant to be an adventure bike

Image
Image
Custom home-brewed Panniers!! Used. Besides I like the lay it down protection good panniers provide the bike and rider - Curtis can make brackets to fit them no problem

Depends on the diameter that the primary starts and ends ,the belt starts on the top of the driven so chances are its the opposite of your thinking. so its bigger than the 94c?

do believe secondary/Driven is bigger. I'll get Curtis to measure mine. (memory seems to say it was 9.50" when I asked him the other day but I didn't write it down.) Primary looks bigger than 94c too. FYI the polaris is more like the Comet 102 and 108 model Primary.

Hmm......... found this about secondary comet info. You running the 94c or 44? Unfortunately below does not show diameter of 90D secondary/Driven that mates with the 94c

I have the 94c 90d setup the driven is 10" dia. but just to add a little to my earlier statement just because yours had a larger driven doesnt mean much until you know the dia. of the drive in the lowest engagement, it would be nice if you could find info on the ratio range of your model.

the ratio for the 94c /90 is 3.49-1 low and a .78-1 high so it has a pretty good overdrive.

Just found what the polaris might be. Doing further search.

The info. said Polars (p90 system) ratio starts near a 3.83:1 underdrive and will top out near a 0.76:1 overdrive.

Other info say's The P-90 is used on a few of the smaller HP sleds. It is physically smaller than the P-85 and not near as strong as the P-85.. I believe p85 is from ATV's but still have to clarify

Came across a Great Deal on a used CVTech Primary AND Secondary w/belt at half cost of the used polaris. Granted this fellow got it originally as part of a University SAE Baja CVT kit so his purchase price was at cost or lower. Great deal for him and now for me.

Primary Powerbloc 50? http://www.cvtech-ibc.com/client/page1. ... =4&clef2=2
Secondary LB3 http://www.cvtech-ibc.com/client/page1. ... =5&clef2=2

the seller thinks the overdrive is about 15% on this one.

Will consider trying both setups if not even mix and match if angle of belt sides is same. It matters cost of weights and springs. These are SPENDY with Polaris. Have not yet priced them for the CVTech. Either way. what I don't use I'll probably sell.

Im still deciphering these. Pics are from Curtis in TX where bike is getting basic build. Plan is for me to do final assembly so I know in's and out's better buttt........
