Re: Big end bearings.
When I think back at the miles the engine has covered, the areas & road types, it has took a pounding. Not abused in any way, but it is understandable, at the wear & tear on the fly wheel bearing, spinning at different revs & load. They need to be tough little engines to cope with this. ...

Re: Big end bearings.
I thought I would double check, the wear & tear on the big end bearings. The salesman at my local Yanmar hire shop, phoned Yanmar UK, to see at what the service limits where on the shell bearings. Was told as long as there where no groves, bad marks or scrapes, in the inner surface, or much in t...

Big end bearings.
I noticed a little amount of play, while riding on the back roads, while the engine was going up through the gears & rev range. This was not felt, on a straight road at fixed revs, this had me thinking the large bearing on the crank behind the fly wheel. Engine stripped, a slight movement was fe...

Re: Charging
Might be confusing Amps with Watts there? Volts X Amps = Watts, so 12 Volts X 15 Amp alternator = 180 Watt output on alternator. There seems to be, a lot of different alternators, on the market for these engines, from the yanmar, to the clone models all stating different outputs, the higest i,ve se...

Re: Charging
I had the very same problem, but dealt with it head on. The headlight most use a upgrade, of around 55 dip 60watts full beam, i think the standard as stated above is around the 40 to 45 watts, each flasher bulb is 10 watts each, or 23 watts, then you add your tail light & Brake light when on, ar...

Re: ENFIELD EXHAUST WRAP
The front pipe, is Stainless, so the rusting won,t be a problem, have done a little reading tonight, on the subject, some of the details on petrol engines, stated that they, run a little weaker on the mixture, with a quicker escape of the exhaust gases, through the pipe,? with using the wrap, made m...
