brand new 2v78 on CL cheap

I have no affiliation with this but I saw it and it seems like someone here might have an interest. I do own a 2v78 that I bought used but this one on Craiglist is brand new. http://slo.craigslist.org/pts/2816525299.html ------------------------ Date: 2012-02-19, 2:53PM PST Reply to: v2hsv-281652529...

B20 Bomber chopper aka BioWillie Chopper

I'm looking for bike build info using the Yanmar 2v78. This lead me to look more into the BioWillie Chopper as I knew they had used a 2v78 in it. On the private production page http://www.dieselbike.net/privateproduction/privateproduction.htm is shown the B20 chopper made for Willie Nelson. On that ...

Re: V twin diesel engines

This is what I plan to use. Yanmar 2v78 from a John Deere F735 prototype. See me running it on Youtube right after I got it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXRK6Fsg1RM Here is a photo with rough dimensions http://listerenginegallery.com/main.php?g2_itemId=5555 I just finished getting my 6/1 listeroi...

Re: Black Friday Yanmar 2v78 special

2v78 engine and bike are getting closer to being on the short list. I'm finishing up a 12hp yanclone repower into a cub cadet tractor and also finishing building up a Listeroid 6 hp engine to run a generator. 3 diesel projects at once.

Aaah died and gone to heaven.

Re: Black Friday Yanmar 2v78 special

I'm thinking more along the lines of harley style. I don't have the bike yet to put it in but am keeping my eyes out for one. In the mean time I'm building up a tractor to keep busy. I have a 12hp from a1biofuel.net going into a cub cadet. I'm using parts of two cubs to make one good one.

Looks nice and a good lightweight bike to do it with. 10hp needs a light bike I'd think to see 60 mph. Very cool.

2v78 internals exposed

OK, I got the engine cleaned up on the outside before I started taking things apart. To get the bottom cover off you have to remove the governor/injector pump housing. I have a lot of photos so far and I will keep them for when I am done converting the engine to be a horizontal shaft engine. When I'...

Re: Black Friday Yanmar 2v78 special

OK, I got the fuel lines hooked up with a home made tank and got the fuel system bled. The one cylinder was hard to get bled but I finally got it. I got it running and it seems to run pretty well. Of course without the cooling system hooked up I don't want to run it very long. I made two short video...

Re: 2v78 Yanmar questions

Hi Stuart, The 2V04 number is the injection pump number. Mine has the same pump. There should be a sticker on the one valve cover that would show the engine model number, year it met the EPA spec, power output, etc. Now, if the engine goes missing and Stuart is riding a diesel bike...someone might g...

Re: 2v78 Yanmar questions

I found out that the v-twin yanmars were used by John Deere in the F735, 355D, GX355 mower/tractors. That makes it nice as you can get parts right from Deere if needed. I was thinking of using the air cooled chinese v-twin but the price was right on the Yanmar. Cooling would be far easier on the chi...

Black Friday Yanmar 2v78 special

For those in the US you know "Black Friday" can mean good deals. For those not in the US, Black Friday is the day after our Thanksgiving holiday. Retailers try to lure customers into their stores by offering goods at very large discounts in hopes the customer will spend their money buying ...

Re: 2v78 Yanmar questions

Well I ended up talking with Jim from Martin Diesel in Defiance, OH as someone on the board suggested. I also have been emailing Wolfgang in Germany who has the "Yanfield" with the 2v78 in a Royal Engfield. He claims 2L of fuel for 100km traveled which equates roughly to 117 mpg if my math...

2v78 Yanmar questions

Hi All, I've found and am considering using a 2v78 Yanmar (I've been considering several models from several makers actually). I've read through all the threads that mention 2v78 and they seem to say the breather and oil pickup need to be changed to run horizontal. Is there anything else to convert ...

Re: IBC CV manufacture

I'd be good to go in on a group buy. Wonder how many others we'd need.

Also, what is the center to center distance on the clutch you run? How far did you have to stretch the bike to get the punsun to fit? What belt does it use?

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: IBC CV manufacture

I saw they supply SAE Mini Baja with CVTs and by the looks of their website they supply many different OEMs. I used their "contact" webpage almost a week ago and asked where I could find a dealer in the US but they've not responded at all. Perhaps they don't sell any here? Seems odd. I sta...

Re: IBC CV manufacture

Where can we buy one in the US? I've looked and can't find anyone that sells them and IBC didn't respond to an email I sent them asking for a dealer in the US. I'm guessing there are some but I just haven't found one.

Hi Ron, Thanks for the welcome. I was in Goshen a few weeks back and my wife and I enjoyed lunch at the South Side Soda Shop/Diner. We then had dessert in the way of chocolate at the Olympia Candy store. Nice town there, we enjoyed walking around downtown and going into the many shops. I appreciate ...

I'm looking at suppliers in the US for the air cooled V-twin and single cylinder diesel engines. At this time, November of 2010, I only find a few suppliers. They are: a1biofuel.net both single and vtwin Punsen/Winsun (and they are on this forum) in TN Carroll Stream in Oxford, MI both singles and a...

I've been a longtime motorcycle rider, since I was 17. Have well over 100k miles under my belt on-road and lots off road. I was researching putting a small diesel "Yanclone" engine in my old IH Cub Cadet when I came across your group. Also, I lived in South America for 7 years and while th...
