This mini turbo looks like it would be small enough - and price is cheap too:

How would you increase road clearance.
I am wondering how you could increase the road clearance of an Enfield. Most diesels look to have a very low road clearance, ok for the highway but not very good when you come to pot-holes, where every inch counts. I was thinking, maybe a monoshock set-up with some cutting/welding at the front... bu...

Re: Wanted Diesel Enfield
I wouldnt import one because of some previous bad experiences I have had with foreign cybersites and the import tax maze. Looks like Ill have to get one custom built, will cost a lot but at least I should get the bike I want.

Re: Enfield Taurus successfully turbocharged
I was thinking of a set up that only provided say, 5lbs boost, but set up to maintain it in high-altitude, mountain passes. I read somewhere that diesel fuel injector pumps must be modified if you boost too much, to overcome the higher cylinder pressures... but the one snippet I found was a bike tha...

Re: Enfield Taurus successfully turbocharged
Does anyone know what the maximum boost would be on an engine like this before internal mods need to be made?

Re: A way of reducing knock??
Form the first page of the wikipedia article about water injection: In internal combustion engines, water injection, also known as anti-detonant injection, is a method for cooling the combustion chambers of engines by adding water to the cylinder or incoming fuel-air mixture, allowing for greater co...

Re: A way of reducing knock??
Another way to reduce knock is water injection, with the added benefit of steam cleaning your engines innards... conversely, supposedly it allows you to raise the compression without knock.

Re: Enfield Taurus successfully turbocharged
Mazdog's RHB31 Turbo project looks promising too. Some manufacturers supply smaller housings so the boost kicks in at lower revs. However, low-revving sub 500cc diesels might be pushing the envelope too far...

Re: CB350 tranny + Yanmar L100 + Turbo
Regarding oil line restrictions, I came across this webapge which recommends : Keep in mind that turbos do not need 3 gallons per minute feed, so to prevent overworking the pump motor the oil must be by-passed back to the feed side of the pump or to the oil reservoir. Typically this is done in a &qu...

Re: Enfield Taurus successfully turbocharged
Does anybody know what model turbo was used? I have a dream of turboing a 440 Lombardini engine. Some say a Mitisubishi TD02 would work, others say its too small.... I would only want a small amount of boost... Look at this guy's tiny petrol turbo pocket bike: http://www.btinternet.com/~goosegog/tur...
