Hey Byrdman,
I now live in the Caribbean and work for Trintrac in Trindad, the southern most island in the Caribbean. We are heavy into Yanmar Marine and the small air cooled engines for pressure washers, pumps, generators etc for commercial applications.
Don't work for Yanmar any longer?
Andi

Take a look at the following link. They used a YANMAR L100AE, which is rated at 9 hp continuous at 3600 rpm and a Comet CVT, which seems to be a good match for a Diesel engine. They are getting a top speed of about 40 mph as far as I've read, but that could have to do with gear ratio and proper tuni...

endlos (endless?), I don't see the model you are speaking about, but if I had to guess I would say its a RY 103 air cooled and yes that is direct injected which is very similar to the YANMAR's. Here is the link to the website, click on data and it prompts a download for a pdf file: http://www.rugger...

Can someone who's German is better than mine tell me if he has rubber mounted the engine? Fiddler, German is my mother tongue, I read through the posted forum link and although they talked about the engine mounting they didn't specify any details. I send them an eMail though, will see if I get a re...

Thanks lex, appreciate the reply. I did go through some of the threads and have read about the hydrostatic hog, infact I own the DVD he sells .... very interesting. Also read about the Diesel electric drive, also very interesting. I don't know so much about that, I know more about hydraulics as I wo...

Hey Mark, great feedback thanks very much. I wish you all the best with your build and would certainly be interested in further updates. What kind of transmission are you using, any idea about top speed? The aircooled V-Twin design should be the perfect match for the Harley. All the best mate. Greet...

Thanks for the replies, I wasn't sure how popular those engines are, I've never heard of them before joining here. I'm very familiar with the YANMAR original, as I work for the local YANMAR Dealer/Distributor. I have seen some YANMAR clones here on plate compactors, pressure washers, generators and ...

V-Twin air cooled Diesel
I would like some feedback on the V-Twin air cooled Diesel engines I have been reading about on this forum, such as the Punsun, Winsun, Longfar etc. which I would call a V-twin YANMAR. They seem like the perfect low cost engine for a Diesel motorcycle as well of course the common industrial use. How...

I'm a newby here as well and in my part of the world we don't have the Punsun available. I have since checked them out on the web and from what I can see they are the V-Twin version of the YANMAR air cooled single L-Series engines, which gets cooled from the cooling fins of the flywheel and that sai...

Diesel Hydrostatic Drive
I have been contemplating a build for some time now, so far I either had no time or money or both. I'm about to get ready and have gathered lots of info and some material for the build. I've considered an all aluminum utility scooter or a small enclosed three wheeler using the YANMAR L100AE with a C...

Hi Erik, I'm new to the forum, in fact this is my first post. I like Diesel engine everything and have looked at your website a few times before with interest. I like the Diesel Dual Sport concept, should be a great adventure touring bike, something I'm looking to do some day again on a real motorcy...
