Good to be back

Post by balboa_71 »

Hello all,
18 months ago I sold my diesel GS850 (home built) to a good friend what wanted to give it a go and see what kind of trouble he could get into. Since we have been swapping bikes and cars over the years, I knew if he got tired of the old girl, he'd call me up and we'd figure out something to keep the diesel in the family.
To make a long story, I'm going to get my diesel project bike back for $$$ and take it to a new level. Since I know live in a more moderate neighborhood, I'll have lots of space for test riding, and improving on the original design I built it from.

Looks like the forum has grown a good deal from 18 months ago....that's the best thing that could happen!!!

If anyone knows where I can get an affordable Hatz 1B40 or 50 for my ride, please email me, thanks!

Glad to see a Diesel Bike builder in my area (sorta)

Im about hour north of you. Working toward a diesel Triumph Tiger. Collecting parts and money right now. Have two Tigers to make one. A gas version of the engine I plan to use for mocking up with, Ultima tranny and belt drive.

Coach,
Would like to see your build when you get it running. I'm down in Richland Hills, which isn't too far from OK.
Ron,
Not sure what direction to go next. I'd like to use a Kubota 2 or 3 cylinder engine in my next ride. Only thing about them I don't like is the indirect injection (hard to start in cold weather.
