New search engine better?

Post by Stuart »

Just been feeding in 'Diesel Motorcycle' to Microsofts new search engine with, I think, better results overall. What do you guys think?

This site only comes up if you search 'diesel bike' - diesel motorbike and motorcycle don't list dieselbike.net on the first page at all which is pretty poor.

Microsoft are desperate to be a serious competitor to Google in the search engine market and this is their latest attempt. Problem is though... Google is so familiar to everyone now and for any of its faults does the job without fuss. Even the established search engines of old such as Lycos, Excite, AskJeeves etc have all but become redundant and disappeared even with TV adverts galore on both sides of the pond.

I find it very hard to see this becoming anything other than an also-ran. Saying that Microsoft are exceptionally clever at forcing these things on everyone via their ubiquitous operating system so just wait for Windows 7 to have this incorporated into its functionality/browser. Cue a load of anti-competitive lawsuits they'll ignore anyway...
