What regulator / rectifier?

Post by Anorak_ian »

Looking at my regulator / rectifier, it's a bit big, and my bike is a bit on the small side,
so I was thinking about using an Enfield reg / rec that I have as it's half the size,
but I'm wondering if the power from my generator would blow it.

The other thing I was wondering about is that the engine was supposed to run with a car battery 70ah to 350ah, a bike battery being a lot smaller 19ah may be damaged by a too rapid charge from the original reg. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated. :)

Stick with the Ruggerini one as it will be far more reliable.

The battery won't be damaged so long as the original system regulated the voltage below 15.5 volts, run it up and measure the voltage at peak revs.
