Enfield gearbox pulley

Post by Anorak_ian »

I don't know why I didn't see this before, here's a pic of the flitzbitz showing it's belt drive.
I was wondering if the pulley on the Enfield gearbox was a one off or an off the shelf job. Anyone know?

Belt Drive

Post by Diesel Dave »

It's an easy one to answer - Hitchcocks catalogue.

I think Sommer sells them in Germany too, Peters bike has the belt drive too and the craziest primary cover - amazing what you can do with a CNC laser cutter.

Piccie is about 2/3 down the page on the LH side (the red one).

Hi Dave, thanks for the info, is this catalog on line? Only I can't see it.
Just incase were at cross purposes here, it's the back wheel to the gearbox sprocket / pulley that I'm looking for.

Cheers
Ian

if you can find someone with a lathe it is easy to remove the teeth from the enfield sprocket, and the outside of a belt sprocket over it.
bolt, or weld it in lace, and you end up with a belt sprocket that fits a enfield.
i did it a couple of times for a commando belt drive.

cheers,
hubert
