Hello all, been awhile since I've posted. Been busy saving folks out in the Mojave Desert, see:

And showing the Solar Taxi crew the way to Solar one, that little electric car is small, no, I just need to go on a diet, see:

Jay Leno fits in the car just fine, he was with the solar Taxi crew the day before.

Then there was the 37th annual Sidecar Rally at Griffith Park and the 29th annual Norton bike run at Hansen Dam (Best Dam Bike Run)

My Honda/Ruggerini just turned 21,000 miles and I thought to do a turbocharger. I found an IHI RHF3 from a 31hp Briggs DM950DT that had lost a rod. $85 for a complete head and turbo delivered, another $100 for odds and ends, notice the P-trap chrome/brass intake tubes from Home Depot, taadaa, Turbo Diesel Honda. Looks very impressive, sounds way cool. The extra air (7psi), power gains were minor, and the restriction caused a dramatic fuel usage when I get into the upper RPM (3,600-4,000), if I stay at a 2,200-2,900RPM, the torque has been improved. But all in all, I'm enjoying the addition. I will retain the stock waste gate boost preesure for now until I get a boost and EGT gauge.
I hope everyone is doing well, I've also sourced two Deutz/Ruggerini RD270 engines, one looks to be brand new, and another complete minus a broken crankshaft with only 50 or so hours. Anyone have a spare crankshaft? While I was at the the Dam run, there was a guy that had a twin engine Arial Square Four, I'm thinking a twin engine diesel myself.

Heiko added a turbo to a china diesel, unfortunately only a pic and no real data yet
What is your mpg without turbo? And what is a gallon in that case

'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.

Turbo Data
My best fuel mileage to date has been 128mpg (US gallon). That was done on my way to the Sidecar Rally last year (2007), I maintained a set speed of 48 MPH (77.24 KPH) and went from an altitude of 3,000 feet (914 meters) above sea to 240 feet (73 meters) and a distance of 125 miles. Barstow, CA to Los Angeles, 1.03 gallons.
At 60-70 mph (96.5-104.6 kph) I averaged 75-80 mpg (around 33-36 km per liter?), and just cruzing the Desert (35-45mph), I averaged 90-105 mpg. Also note I had a chain primary which is more efficient than the twin V-belt primary which I have now, and that did rob about 5-10 mpg. But maintenance and service life exceeded the open chain.
I had the turbo on for only 3 days and 150 miles, fuel consumption went to about 50-60 mpg on 100% bio-diesel, I ran straight diesel fuel for about 25 miles to see if performance improved, and it didn't.
Conclusion, if you don't set pump pressure up to compensate the higher cylinder pressures with the addition of a turbo, leave well enough alone.
Please note, I weigh 275lbs, a lighter rider would get better fuel mileage.
Top speed to date with the chain primary has been 85 miles per hour. 29/40 tooth primary, and 14/39 tooth secondary with factory 16" rim/tire. The RD211 will run right up to valve float, I know as I've seen the valve marks on the piston crowns.
1.2009 US gallon = 1 Imperial gallon
