Excessive Smoke & Oil consumption

Post by Stuart »

I was told this my a friend recently and thought I’d post it up in case it helps anyone.

If you suffer from the above with an old engine it’s worth considering that you could have gummed up piston rings? Various mechanics on YouTube create their own concoctions of brake cleaner & ATF & after removing injectors, let the solution slowly work it’s way down to the rings.
If left long enough it can free up the rings and solve the issue. Everyone out there seems to have their own formulas for this  so be careful what you choose to use.
