Rubber Engine Mountings

I plan to fit a Yanmar L100 into an MZ. The MZ engine is rubber mounted as standard: the flexible mountings work very well. Does anyone have any experience of rubber mounting a Yanmar? If I use rubber engine mounts, and a Comet drive, being a belt, I hope to reduce some of the engine vibrations getting to the bikes frame. Is there a torque problem from the engine, or with the variable drive, that I need to address?

There is nothing against flexible mounting in the MZ frame. you do however have to be very stringent about how close you build it together as the space between front of engine and front mudguard will be minimal.

As you can see the mounting is quite a snug fit, allowing to use a standard TS frame, only frame mod is to cut off the part holding the footrests, placing them under the new motor mount

Most Diesel bikes don't have rubber mounted engines in my experience. If you make a good solid head steady to the frame I think that should do away with most vibrations. My 350cc Hatz was anchored only by a single head stud and that broke after 22km.

I've now been on the Road for a wole season, covering in exces of 5000 km, no frame isses what soever, might have something to dó with the rubber mountings

Hmm quite a bit longer than originally stated. However, must say, there should be no ruptures in tha frame at all
