I just spent a happy morning at this place, not far from where I live In Manchester UK

This place is perhaps like my (and, I imagine, most other people here's) shed, but on a grand scale. 'Exhibits' too big to go inside (up to and including enormous marine diesels sit outside in the rain with a tarp over them! There are something over 200 engines, most of them diesels, and many oddities. Enjoy the website - I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit, which is very good value.

Interesting, if I get the chance I might just visit it, combine it with a visit to IWM North.

If you do, you might also look at the museum of science and industry (MOSI) in Manchester, and there's also a large collection of mill engines (steam) in Bolton...and lots lots more!
