I keep hearing about this Honda NC700 from other bikers. I like to think they are coming around to our way of thinking, slowly Sounds like a nice, torquey ride anyway.

Re: Best MPG petrol motorcycle out there?
We've got cars that will do that lol
The Enfields are very good although you won't get the same performance and the LML(stella in the US) 4 stroke scooter is said to be capable of 120mpg although that's at commuter speeds.
It's always been the case with older bikes if you fitted a single carb conversion SU or Amal you got considerably more mpg and a much more flexible bike for not much loss in performance.
I've always wondered what some of the Japanese 4 cyl bikes would achieve if the 4 carbs were removed and a single carb/ manifold fitted??
I know these days that emissions/laws etc. make a lot of this on modern bikes impossible.
Hopefully if the Japanese start concentrating on MPG we might see some useful bikes coming out and I haven't mentioned diesel

Re: Best MPG petrol motorcycle out there?
My little 2006 Honda Rebel averages mid-60mpg US and will still do 65-75mph on the highway. Got 80mpg running lean with straight pipe exhaust before rejetting the carb.
Main complaint is the 2 gallon fuel tank requiring refill every 120 miles making long trips impractical. It does need premium gas when riding in the mountains (6000-11,000ft) to prevent knocking.
