creating a Reverse mode with a CVT setup

setting up the complet CVT system to run off a chain drive as if it was any other typical divorced gear box as described in the thread located at:

viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1803

seems to open the door to adding a reverse to the bike if one could find an alternator that opperates also as a motor as well.

1. Lower pulley (Secondary/driven CVT clutch) connected via jackshaft to rear chain sprocket could be set up to be direct shaft mount with the alternator also. (see also pictures at thread linked above)
2. This maybe opens the ability to use alternator as a motor to reverse the bike in neautral since CVT pully's will be in slip mode?

Nice thinking..particularly about alternator drive...

however,
1/ i don't think the alternator would spin fast enough

2/ You'll never get an alternator to run as a motor.... so unless you go with a dynamo, reverse is out of the question!

Some one mentioned here Suzukie? used a "generater"/rev. motor

In a search came up with more like this but they were "startr motor/ Generators" which I would think could be adapted for back up purposes. Came across them listed for Golf Carts "tractors" airplanes and helocoptiers.
