Post by Anorak_ian »

Hi, I have a load of Lombardini parts for sale, so if you need something let me know.

Piston ring sets, loads of different sizes.
Piston kits, pins, clips, rings.
Gasket packs.
Workshop Manuals.
Valves.
Oil pumps.
Big end shells.
Filters air, oil, sump.

I will be cataloging and listing it all on my website in time (when I get time that is).

if they are parts from more than one model engine you may want to mention this even before you catalog it. If it's only one model... it would be good to know.

I would think "Piston ring sets, loads of different sizes" would give people a clue.

I will of course be stating the part number, size, and what engine it is intended for, along with a photograph of the item.

Not meaning to be snooty.... consider not assuming as much. For example ... "different ring sets" could just as easily be standard ring sets as well as sets for same engine in various common over bored cylinder/sleeve sizes.

Hi mate, would that be like a big rubber ring / seal at the bottom of the filter?

I certainly have a lot of filters, but I haven't had time to do anything with them yet.

Do you have a model number of the filter? or ring?

Ian :)

thanks but no, not the filter, i mean the whole steel canister that mounts up to the aluminium air inlet. i actually only need the first part of the attachment, so as i can connect a modern auto air filter up to it....i¨ll look for a part number.

Oh I see, you need the air in take pipe that bolts to the manifold?
I have one for a Rug rd210, I'm not sure, but I think that I didn't use it as the internal diameter was smaller than the manifolds hole. I didn't want to restrict the breathing, at least I think that was the reason.

I used a Harley exhaust manifold bracket and cut down the pipe, and the K&N is on the end of that.
Though I do worry about water getting in to the engine when I go through heavy rain. I may change mine for one of those enclosed filters you see on eBay.

I'll take a gander, and see what I have.

Hi, I just took a look in the Lombardini boxes, and no filter housings / manifolds,
and the rd210 filter housing must have been sold as it isn't here anymore. Darn.

Sorry I can't help you.

Hi Erik,

No sorry,
The only piston kits that I have are three kits for a 9LD 561 (95mm bore), may also fit the three cylinder 11LD.

I have just found a website that helps me identify the parts that I have, part numbers to Engine models, so now I can start cataloging what I have.

G'day Ian, As with Erik, I also have an MD150, with low compression on one pot, Not had time to strip it yet, and hoping to find a valve not seating,
but I'm guessing that I may need piston/rings/barrel, or oversize piston/rings.
I will look out for your list, as there will be other bits needed.

Have to say Ian, I envy your collection of pre-1960 machines - Free tax, No MOT, - Moto-Nirvana !

Hi Bob, there all in boxes, patiently waiting for parts and logbooks. Too many jobs and not enough time.

I'm selling one of my project bikes as there's no way I'll ever get her finished, I got too ambitious.
It's on my website, http://www.dieselbiker.webspace.virginmedia.com/ my diselbiker.co.uk site is down again.

I'll try to get some more work done to the parts list to night. :D
