Hi,
My names Ian and I live in Brighton England....AKA "London by the Sea."
I'm not new to motorbikes, but this is my first diesel. Not being a mechanical engineer I have taken the easy route, buying one of Jochem Sommers new model 462 Hatz diesels.
I traveled over to Eppstein Germany early August to collect it and ride it home on an export plate. It was all very different and of course it rained up to when I boarded the ferry at Dieppe, then the sun came out, typical!
Last week I made it over to Hamm via the Harwich-Hook Ferry and met up with lots of the faces from this forum. The beer was cold and the schnitzel tasty! Willie was a great host.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best getting to and from the site but the Saturday was great with all sorts of bikes passing through.
I am planning some interesting trips for next year and am looking forward to picking members brains for advice and tips, Cheers, Ian.
P.S Hi Jeff, when I hung up my damp tent to dry it the missing phone fell out...Doh!

You know me well my friend, but I also like a bit of variety.... bacon for breakfast, sausage for lunch and schnitzel for dinner! Of course washed down with coffee and the excellent heller beer!
Having fed those happy pigs acorns, it only seemed fair that they should feed me.......Ian.

Good luck with the new diesel bike. I'm sure that you'll have lots of fun on it - apart from riding in really wet and cold weather!!
