Have a 2002 RE with Hatz and noticed the fuel tank was moving about a bit so checked the bolts etc and found that one of the back lugs securing tank to frame had broken off. Most replies I have had (Hitchcocks web site) suggest leaving it with just one but looking at the amount of weld ( about a quarter of an inch) don't think it will be long before the other one breaks.
Anybody overcome this problem without resorting to welding or brazing which I imagine will burn the paint off inside the tank Some form of strap or rubber over the tank and hooked on front and back ??
