Diesel Bike Contest

Post by pietenpol2002 »

Since things have been a bit quiet here on the board I thought I'd take the opportunity to begin the international contest for "The Most Garish Diesel Bike" known to man. I believe I have the winner in the link below. Hard to imagine having enough power (especially from an aging Greaves) to drag move bells and whistles down the road than what you'll find on this trike. And I suppose the resulting speeds are unlikely to exceed the capabilities of the left-foot actuated mechanical rear brakes. Artistic value would seem to exceed the mechanical value. A true delight nonetheless.

There is at least two different bike/carts in the thread link you provided. Or the photos are before and after shots of the same bike.

Indeed there are several examples shown. But hey, they're all winners.

The trike with engine in photo 5 looks like a Lombardini 4LD series so could be anything from 640cc to 820cc single cyl

Some works of art! I'll bet these machines do the job intended of them, and do it well. Heck, I wouldn't want any speed out of them if I was sitting on the bench in the back!

I like the springer fork, is that an ancient pre-war Enfield one? This is one of the universal truths, that a springer fork is universally appreciated for it's beauty, even half way 'round the world.
