alternative regulator

Post by arnaud »

Today i got home without lights.
It seems that the expensive lucas electronic regulator broke down.
I knew that the 6v models are prone to die witin a year but i was hoping this would last longer, like the bloke told me who'never heard of a failure.

would an old car regualtor work? or is the genny too weak to steere this,,
A way of testing if the generartor itself works: both phase wires (yanclone) to plus of light bulb, earth to the other end?

Old VW buggy and 2CV use 6v-systems. Single phase if I remember right.
that should do it
