Well I hope everyone had a good weekend. While the sky was grey and dumped loads od rain on us I spent 4 hours Sunday helping my Cousin & Uncle fault find their FZR600 in their garage. Finally looked at the fuel pump (buried inside the tank) and yes, it was a mess. Blocked to high heaven with all manner of crud. A new one is £200+ but I understand they've plumbed for a more reasonabley priced one from eBay instead.
The bike ran briefly when gas was poured into the carbs but not thereafter. Think we're right in assuming it needs to be pressurised by the fuel pump.
Nothing like frozen fingers covered in petrol and slime And the aroma of petrol is still pretty strong around me Steer cleer of naked flames for a bit, lol.
Week end

Sounds like fun
Never had a bike with a fuel pump...
all mine have just been gravity feed (some were vacuum taps though)...
I think sometimes I enjoy the tinkering and fiddling as much as the riding...(and I like the bike as well )

Re: Week end
Good ole Ebay comes to the rescue !!! Don't know what I'd do without Ebay now .
Wonder if there might be Ebay Anonymous .................. loll. It get infectious after a while.
Great to see you got the fuel pump sorted. I look on with horror that dirt bikes "Enduro Varieties to" are all going fuel injection. Don't want a damn pump go on you 500K's from nowhere
