Hi Stewart I am at the Stafford show, This is the bigest show in the world for classic bikes, met the man today that made the first Hatz diesel in an Enfield. This was done at Hatz request to promote their engines.I am expecting a bit of interest in my bike there has been a few photos taken already & it dont open till tomorow.

Hi Sam. I wonder if that guy can make our rally? Does he work for Charnwood by any chance? Couldn't make that show as I've a lot on right now.

Sorry never got the chance to meet him again. One man I did meet was Doug Jackson, ( the worlds motorcycles news agency ) he took photos of the bike & said he would let me know if they apeared in Amarican magazines. I did not win anything at the Stafford show but there is not realy a category for diesels. But if there was a prize for the most photographed bike I would have won it. Another interesting fact I picked up was the next bike to mine 1943 Douglas was registered in Isle of Man,
1 MOT for life of motorcycle.

I've often thought of registering a car there. Saw some coppers go to book a car once and when they saw it was an Isle of Man car they gave up before they started :D Not sure if that has changed now though.
