Just found a bit of info of the CVT Ford fitted to the 1.25i Zetec engine
Low Ratio - 3.84:1
High Ratio - 0.66:1
Reverse Ratio - 4.27:1
I dont know if its already been mentioned, or if it will of be any use to anyone, but there it is.

Re: Ford Fiesta CVT
That is some serious gear spread. The Comet I was originally planning on using had a 3.8 low ratio and a 0.78 high ratio, and I had it figured that I could go anywhere between 10mph and 80mph without slipping the belt. The fiesta CVT does even better.
Re: Ford Fiesta CVT
Glad it was of some interest
I keep my eyes open at the local scrappy's for old fiesta's with the CVT just incase...
I dont really want a CVT, but it would solve one problem

Re: Ford Fiesta CVT
one thing Im curious about is the transmisions with a CVT inside. Not sure if you can cannibalize these to extract the CVT. These might run in an oil bath or some form of cooling .. something. Especially those that have metal belts.
There is a possibility that this is the difference between microcars and larger vehicles with CVT. Microcars Im guessing have an external CVT not placed inside a transmission case with reversing gears, and other gizmos.
