Perhaps it's my advanced age, but I no longer relish long rides pivoting my foot on a solitary foot"peg". Consequently, I've held a set of D-shaped Harley footboards in reserve for my current Yanclone build. But this evening's events may have changed that plan.
I agreed to accompany my dear wife on a shoe shopping excursion this evening in the role of consultant (my last name is after all, Shoemaker). My wife left the store with the same shoes she wore in. I however, left that store with motorcycle parts in hand.
It seems that foot measurements are no longer taken with the traditional Brannock Foot Measuring Device. Rather, it's done electronically with some digital device. The lovely cast aluminum Brannocks are therefore free for the taking. I don't know about you, but when I look at those pups, I see floorboards. They're even marked as left and right in case you can't figure which foot goes on which side of the bike. Have I mentioned I'm a scrounger? And cheap?

Re: Floorboards
I think it would look rather stylish, especially if your name is Schumacher

Re: Floorboards
Schumacher is indeed the original German spelling. It got Anglicized to Shoemaker once here in the states.

Yeah much more convenient, although people won't mistake you for being Amish when you have a Pietenpol
Do you have any more pictures of what your project is maturing to?

Re: Floorboards
Here's the rest of the project to go with the floorboards, although you'll see the HD boards in the accompanying pic. A slow but extremely enjoyable process. The need to fabricate just about everything makes for slow progress, coupled with very limited free time and then having my shop at some distance. As it was building airplanes, it's as much about enjoying the process as it is the outcome.
