Dave,

What is vibrations like? Have you been on a non diesel tiger to compare? You got seat time lately on any other non diesel bikes to compare with?

On reason Im asking is wondering if might should consider loosing the engine as a structural member and add that back by building in an engine basket then rubber mount the engine in some manner.

What about noise? Need earplugs? Would neighbors have a problem compared to sound of a petrol bike of this size?

Yup it's a noisy bas*d, it's mostly intake noise as there's just a K&N conical in the way.

The handling is pretty good despite warnings from all and sundry about Tiger headshakes, I did over 100 miles on Sunday with a full topbox and the missus on the back.

It's nothing like a petrol motor, the rev range is very short and the rev's will sit wherever you want them too depending on how far you open the twistgrip. It sounds odd for folks unfamiliar with how a regulator works. Normally the twistgrip or throttle controlls the amount of power, on a diesel it's a request for revolutions - a bit like a ships telegraph to the engine room. You don't notice this on a small single because you always want more revs/power.

Cheers

The flywheel is still in there, it's much smaller than the ones fitted to single cylinder bikes, it could do with a few pounds being shaved off it.

Thanx Dave.

I'm wondering if there is several fly wheel options and Heicko chose the smallest diameter available to use. It sure looks tiny in circumference compared the one on the Kubota.

I don't have any pics but it's inside that flywheel.

There are 2 types available 20A and 30A, interestingly the 20a is 3 phase and the 30A is single phase.

Yes they are optional fitments from the factory.

Also optional are electric engine stop and automotive regulator controls, (I don't have these as I wanted the mechanical engine stop and with the std regulator yiu can use a twistgrip hold as cruise control.
