Tyre choices

Had to get a new back tyre for the VF ,very limited choice. Most modern bikes are on 17" wheels My VF has 16" front & 18" rear (130/80/18). I didnt realise till I started asking, most bike tyres are cross ply. So just a word of warning If you are building out of something with a bit of age, and intend to keep it for a while, see if you can get a spare set of tyres to keep for future use.

Thanks for the replies, I did get a tyre, but the point is it had to be ordered and not on the shelf like a car. As a particular size goes out of fashion the production goes down, then it is down to vintage clubs ordering them as special production runs and you can imagine this will affect the price.
