Guys,
I've just posted my writings on the Hamm rally to the main website. Do apologuise if I've missed anyone's bikes off. Tons of Enfields didn't make it on there though http://www.dieselbike.net/Hamm09/Hamm09.htm
And I've also finally got round to posting Reinhards Gibraltar adventure if you've not seen it yet. Hopefully I get his latest adventure posted a bit quicker when I get it. http://www.dieselbike.net/Reinhardsride ... ride1.html

A briliant write up Stu, hardly worth going ( no I joke). Question did anyone mention moving it a bit further forward? I will probably go anyway next year but it would be nice to encorporate it in a tour of Europe rather than a staight dash down the autoroute.
No Sam, they picked that date/weekend deliberately because statistically it has the best weather. We try and include it towards the end of a European holiday which usually works out ok.
All I can say is they must have a very strange weather system that September is better than June July or August. All I Know is the days are a bit short at that time of year.

I have to say I agree with you. One of the reasons I didn't go this year is my new sleeping bag really is not as warm as my old one. Lat time I went on bike I had ice ( frost) on my tent in north France on the way to meet stu and jeff. I hope to have a new bed and a warmer bag for next year. I do only ride for pleasure, and 800 miles each way means I like to be sure of the weather. That is partly why last year I went by car, and at the UK meet I had a trailer to collect my bike so had room for two sleeping bags in the car
I hope to do atrip next year across Germany and it would be nice to incorporate it with hamm.
Yep it was a bit nippy at night now in fairness but nothing too bad. Unfortunately the weather turned bad on Sunday night as we were headed down to Stuttgart. We got a real drenching and saw plenty of crashes on the Autobahn. Then 2 days later the weather was ok again. Just like home I guess...

Sam, another reason the rallies are at either end of the summer is so as not to interfere with ppl's normal holidays. I think it was found that a lot of ppl would be away with family etc in mid summer.
