Hi Ray,
the throttle linkage on diesels can be tricky as you're going onto a guvnor arm. You may have to fabricate a bracket to hold the outer cable. Would you believe the one on my bike has been secured by it being held at the oil filler point :?: :D On my bike the lever is at the back of the engine and is not easy to get at :!: I'm hoping the cable doesn't break on me on the way to Germany next week that's for sure :(
Fuel cut off is usually a small button pull or lever thereabouts on the block. You might be lucky and have a place to fit a solenoid coil to switch fuel on and off electrically.
You're pretty local to me and I'm free anytime for the next week and a half. If you want a second opinion send me a time and place and I'll pop over to have a look.

Solenoid? A bit fancy that. :)
I use an old choke (carburettor) lever on my handlebars as used on old Brit bikes.

Yeah, ray showed me some pictures of his build at the rally but couldn't see the detail of what is required there.
Maybe try and post some shots Ray?

Here's a shot of my throttle cable holder.

Hi there Ray - welcome to the forum.

I purchased a solenoid from a auto gas centre, had to have the thing for rego. As soon as rego done the solenoid came off as an electrical fault would leave me stranded.

When I need to shut the engine down i just use the decompression lever or have another little device that drops the throttle lever down to shut off the fuel.

If you have the need, a solenoid can be useful I guess though. Guess it's a topic for the tech section hey :) ?
