Mexico to Canada Enfield

Post by pietenpol2002 »

Do check out Geoff's blog of his efforts to travel from Mexico to Canada on 10 gallons of biodiesel with his clone fired Enfield. He has day 3 up on the blog and was making 171.3 mpg even while facing considerable grades, construction and wind. Of particular interest is his water injection and various other engine mods. His is probably the most extensively modified Yanmar clone of any I've seen. Makes for a fun read.

I think I read this before, thanks for the reminder :)

He is the first one to describe the front axle clamp as a weak link, but I cannot corroborate that. Seem very dangerous if they would indeed break.
'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.

I've had his site book marked for a while, and been following the progress. Glad he is on the way and I'm hoping not too many parts rattle off the Enfield before the border.
