Hello from albertaphil

Post by albertaphil »

Hello everyone. I live near Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and I stumbled across DieselBike.net several months ago. Well, the seed was planted and now I'm in the preliminary stages of building a bike...I can hardly wait to go for a ride! Thanks for all your wisdom.

Hi Phil

Welcome to the forum mate, what sort of mount are you thinking of building? I'm sure you'll get all the inspiration and help you need to get yet another diesel motorcycle on the road.

Be sure to keep us posted on the progress hey ;)

Thanks for the welcome. I just acquired a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 750 with a non-working engine and otherwise good condition as the recipient of my 650cc ruggerini twin. My plan is to mate the engine to a Comet 94C CVT and gear for a top speed (at 3600rpm) of 80mph, which should give me enough speed for the downhills, but a reasonable rpm at 60-70mph cruising. I hope this combo will achieve my goals.

I also ended up with a 10hp yanclone out of generator for $60, but I have nothing to put it into yet :) I have a winter of fun all ready for me.

I appreciate all who take the time to write out their thoughts and experiences on this forum. I'll post some pics shortly.

Cheers,
Philip
