Two stroke diesel offer

Post by Cockney Bob »

I found this on realclassic.co.uk messages any one interested.
A Serious Diesel Bike Challenge

I was speaking with an engineer friend today and he has built a 500cc, single cylinder, water cooled, 2 stroke diesel engine from scratch using only 3 proprietsry components.....the injectors, con rod and glowplug. He is a motorcyclist but his real interest is designing and building 2 stroke engines.

He wants to know if anybody is prepared to offer a rolling chassis or a complete (engineless bike) into which the engine could be fitted. He will happily set up the engine and allow somebody to use the bike as a rolling test bed. He will also be on hand to do mods etc to make it all work efficiently. A Midlands base would help I guess but is not essential.

The engine is a similar size to a Model 50, or heavyweight Matchless, B33 type singles.

You would have an opportunity to ride a unique one off special in the Real Classic mould,,,BUT without all the cost of building etc. I might even do a piece for RC based on it. You could be famous........with a small f of course.

So any takers????

Post on here with an email link or e-mail me on the link above.

It is not in the arrival brightly planned. But in the Dreams Men Dream along the way we find the Golden road to Samarkand.

That's awesome Bob!!!! As Sphere said "Photo's please"

If I lived in London mate I'd put my hand up, I think it was Dave who mentioned building a two stroke as well as myself.

The good thing with a 2-stroke diesel is the incredible torque and power from the engine, guess it would have a unique sound as well.

This is a must see!

To my knowledge we have never seen a 2-Stroke diesel motorcycle before! So this might make history?

This example from somewhere in the Ukraine(I think?) is the only one I know of.

Hmmm, mixed messages in the text.

I have seen one of these in the flesh - blows nice smoke rings in start up:

And just listen to how quickly one of these old boys revs up

Dave is the Ideal candidate so good luck Dave.

Sadly it was never taken up.
