Hi all, Phil from Birmingham (UK)here. I have a love of old bikes (especially BSA and Panther), but also ride more modern bikes (armstrong and VMAX), I also own a 2cv trike I built about 7 years ago and am currently building (very slowly) a 7.5 litre buick trike. Now to the reason for joining this forum: I am currently building a kuboto D950 (Ex Birmingham council lawnmower)powered BMW (R75/7) So far I have mated the BMW clutch to the Kuboto flywheel (the buggers have asymetric hole centres!) and am now making an adaptor plate to mount to the rear of the engine to allow me to weld the cut down BMW crankcase so it will act as a bellhousing. Hopefully I can sort out gearing problems by fitting a RS bevel box, wire wheels with 19 inch rims allowing greater diameter tires. If this doesnt prove to be high geared enough I may try the higher top gears you can buy for the gearbox (very expensive though!)
Will keep you posted with progress along with some pics when I can suss out how to post them.
Phil
