Wished I'd have seen this sooner (already got one, really don't need another unless mine breaks!) Nice engine, Hatz claims to have made over half of a million of these from the 1970's to around 1990??? Hope yours is going into a bike, they're a weirdly cool looking engine!

I also think it is a good looking engine, if I didn't have so many projects, I would have kept it. You had just missed it as it was sold an hour or two prior. The gentleman that bought it is into restoring mini bikes, tote goats, and old Honda Mini Trails. Sounds like the engine might make its way into one of his big wheel tote goat called a Pack-Jack. http://www.oldminibikes.com/forum/what/ ... oat-3.html

So it seems we will keep in contact as he was really interested in the Diesel motorcycles we are playing with. I will pass on the interest you have with the engine, maybe you two could communicate with each other.

Hi Dave,

I found a parts list, repair manual and operation manual on eBay over the winter and scoffed 'em up. If he needs a copy of anything or any info have him PM me here. The parts list is also free on the Hatz website, but not easy to find in there! (Don't ask me, I forgot, tried to find it again after harddrive crash and couldnt)

I really like my engine, got it running really well and it is easy to work on. Just have to get it into that bike!

Mine is an E79, but I don't know the difference between the E and Es. I thought that Es had electric start, but after seeing the picture I'm wrong! Guess I coulda looked in the manual  !
