Logo!
Ok guys,
With the new board and lick of paint it really needs a logo to replace the standard "phpBB" at the top left don't you think? I know there was a thread a while ago about club names...
Basically the floor is open. Stick your logo ideas into this thread (you should be able to attach files now - "upload attachment" tab at the bottom of the posting screen). Stuart or someone will pick the best one to put up there and you'll be famous (maybe).
Also we can change the colour scheme on here too using a "style". Some examples of these are here -
http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/
Anyone any preferences? There does not seem to be a specific one for bikes or engineering (unless there is one somewhere else out there on the internet). Or is everyone happy with the standard blue one?

Re: Logo!
Yep,
you'd think there would be one out there that was vaguely mechanical wouldn't you I'll ask around and search a little. I would be good to have a logo of sorts. I did a lot of looking a while back for like the international symbol for diesel and stuff like that but never found anything that was right.
Put forward your ideas

Re: Logo!
Yeah isn't it a bugger when you have something in your head, but getting from there to paper "Computer" causes severe stress .
I guess the working would be Diesel, Motorcycle, Members from all over the planet, private builders and enthusiasts.
If I have a brain wave guy's I'll post it up, at the moment sleep deprivation is proving ones ability to think is non existent.
Cheers Guys

Re: Logo!
i do still check on here - my project is on hold for a little while but will be back n track later this year
id say something really simple - dont know what name but maybe along these lines?..
that way if you want stickers / patches making in the future it will be really cheap and simple
i dont think you want anything too complex up there drawing the eye to it either, just a fairly plain jane functional job - but a bit rugged looking

Re: Logo!
I'm thinking that a good one would be a simple graphic (the title is already there)...what about a motorcycle tank silhouette with a diesel pump icon superimposed? I will try to draw one up...soon

Re: Logo!
Another little nudge for this post. With the interest in the upcoming rally hopefully the site traffic will increase a bit and it'd be nice to have a logo for ourselves rather than the phpbb standard one. Thanks for the entries so far.

Re: Logo!
Like the line of bikes. Text seems to get lost in the image. Try some other colors? greys, light greens, .... oh wait..... what color is the handle on a diesel pump on your side of the pond? Here they are green, do they do that over there too?
Just thinking a green would be appropriate

Re: Logo!
here is the green we use in the states.
someone get me a pic of a bike up close and at the right angle for this guy to be standing next too and I'll see if I can photochop the two together if you want

Re: Logo!
Nice try Coachgeo but unfortunately over in the UK (and IIRC Europe) green is the standard colour for unleaded! Ignoring some of the the premium fuels (for which read British Petroluem who use the same blue handle for their premium petrol AND premium diesel, helpfully resulting in many a drained fuel tank and written off engine...) diesel is generally a black handled pump.
